Default How do you store your R/C building materials?

Looking for ideas on how you guys and gals store your building materials for your R/C builds, like rod or tube, sheet metal, etc... I am building a new home and garage and want to maximize my space and have it look good and be functional, thanks in advance!

pvc tube in different lengths with a cap on one end for rod, tube, and skinny flat stock. the sheets of material I store on my laptop pullout on my desk. rod ends and bolts and nuts go in plano boxes.

This may or may not help. We have "The Container Store" nearby and they have tons and tons of, wait for it, containers! I think you can also order online from them or find comparable, and surely cheaper, containers on eBay.

55 gallon drums (metal or plastic) are great and cheap (often free if you know the right people).

I like this idea, I may try these in the new garage for the rod, tube, and skinny stock...

i am in escrow right now on a home with (finally!) a 3 car garage! so this is a good thread. i would also like to see pics of workbenches if you could be so kind. i actually kinda dig what coleman has, a desk inside a closet so he can close it and nobody is the wiser.
i wouldn't need to hide mine since its a garage, but its a creative idea and might get somebody else some ideas.
we also have a container store here in san diego. I've never been there, must be why I'm so unorganized hahahaha!

I used PVC pipe of different diameters with a cap on one end to hold lengths of round stock of brass, steel and aluminum. Another PVC tube holds the silicon bronze brazing rods.

What are you using the drums for? Cutting them up for building material?

I don't have any drums, but my dad uses them to hold pipes, for example.

Ah, that's some serious bulk storage. I get plastic and stainless drums from time to time via my company. I usually just give them away. I have one stainless drum now but that's tagged to be a smoker soon.
