When all of this was programmed, said programming was based on the prices at that point in time. Having worked in the retail sector (years ago), and having worked for Amazon (just a few years ago), I do know that what I was being told is truth, and not "BS". If anyone reading this really wants to try and get the Trail King Pro for $269 (ie. the current regular price, work the advertised $100 off), you could try "forcefully" (but, at the same time, "very politely") 'complaining' about the situation (it might even require speaking with a sales supervisor/manager), and you MIGHT be able to accomplish what I accomplished. If you know how to "read between the lines", then you should be able to figure out what I just indicated, without having to blatantly stating it.

While I agree with the second half of your first sentence, and I understand & agree with your second sentence, it looks like I'm not the only one not understanding the first half of your first sentence. In what I said, and what I reported, not BS...not at all. As the full $100 discount couldn't be applied to the purchase price, the additional $80 was done through a "customer service discount"...so, in the end, I received $100 discount off of the standard $369 price.

I can't remember his name...plus, I probably shouldn't state it in here, even if I could remember...but, if you read my earlier post, it provides all the info you'd need. And, yes, I did get it for $269...although, I should mention, I'm a "high dollar" account (I've acquired over 12,000 points in the past year, if that indicates anything), so that probably helped in them being willing to do what was done.
