After Tony and Jr crashed out I was pulling for Martin. He's been around forever and never had a Daytona 500 win. Heckuva finish...especially for the Jack Daniel's car. Clint Bowyer finished 18th on his lid!  |

Dezfan: right on smokinu_by_rc: I call BS. Shrub is an idiot. I told my kids before the restart that Shrub was gonna wreck the field. Guess what? He did. He practically drove Kevin into the wall and then ended up on the apron, got loose, pile drived the 17 and took out 20 cars. You don't believe it, watch the tape. As for Martin, my heart broke along with the everyone else. I watched Mark race at my local short track before most on this board were even born. He is the classiest driver NA$CAR has ever had. There was only one driver I wanted to see beat him. As fate would have it, that other driver did beat him. Does Mark deserve a 500 victory? Absolutely. Does Mark deserve to be champion? Absolutely. 5 years later, and I think I've finally recovered from that day.... and I'm ready to do it again. Hopefully I make it farther this year before passing out.
