| It's great to be back home!
I know there may be some of you that travel and are away from home and your family for extended periods of time but for me it was the first time ever and I'm almost 49. I was told in May that the company I worked at for 30 years would be shutting down and our last day of work would be September 27th of this year. I was done on the 27th, signed up for unemployment compensation, and started looking for jobs. In PA after the 3rd week you have to start looking for jobs in order to keep your benefits, I started on the 1st week and put an application in for UPS seasonal to full time driver, went for interview on Oct 8th, took my road test the Friday after that and they sent me to UPS Integrad school last Monday in Landover Maryland. That was one long week, I left last Sunday, started on Monday and got home yesterday around 3PM. It was very fast paced schooling and a lot of info to absorb but I graduated and should be starting this coming week. I don't have any kids but my wife and I have two dogs and five cats and it was a very nice homecoming. They were all so happy to see me and me so very glad to see them. So to all of you that travel for work I give you credit, I don't think I could do it but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

| Re: It's great to be back home! Thanks man! Sometimes I think things work out for a reason, I had no hopes of getting this job but I always thought it would be good job to have, I've worked in a dirty foundry and machine shop for 30 years and actually am waiting on a start date from another mill but I think this is a much better fit for me, I've had enough of the mill work, time for a new chapter. |

Congrats on the change in lifestyle! Keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out for the best, my man... On Friday my job situation changed as well - in a much more minor way. I have been training for the last week and a half to change positions into one that handles work in a very different manner. Hopefully the stress will be much less, and my schedule got a lot more normal as well - for now, at least. Worked Mon-Fri 7-4 for the first time in ages during training and won't be changing until the week of Nov.18. Hopefully, I won't get too insane of a schedule after that, there will be another team trained up in Georgia and then all of us will need to decide how we will be covering everything. It's just more tech support, what I've been doing for a long time - but with a new approach. |

Congrats! UPS is a good company to work for. Yes, living out of a suitcase sucks. Been there, done that. Sent from my LM-G710VM using Tapatalk |
