| 2020....year of the IFS scaler?
I'm really curious on what you think. With the Element RC release of the IFS bolt on kit do think this will snowball with other companies? It seems to be the only real new thing going. Personally I'm holding out and hoping a company will do this IFS but with an open diff for use with a proper scale Pre-Runner. I know Axial, losi, kyosho, etc have done this but not really on this smaller scale. Thoughts? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Everyone wants more realism, so I believe IFS kits and rigs are inevitable.

I’m still unsure about it. A SFA truck crawls so much better. I’m interested in the IFS kit for a quicker-than-crawl trail truck, but I’m not sure the IFS will perform that much better at 1/10 scale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I sure hope so, because I spent too much money on RC last year and I'm not at all interested in IFS.

Tell ya what i noticed pretty quick, if was hopping around that terrain with a bunch of stability. IFS will be a big improvement, it can be seen, that rig was flying over the bumps, landing was solid. Look for IRS in the future. pep |

Well Element wasn't the first to release an IFS kit. I believe that honor goes to Roll Scale: https://www.facebook.com/rollscale/ But before IFS kits, there were companies like Tamiya that have been producing IFS scalers for decades - see the CC-01. I believe Element is the first manufacturer to mass produce a bolt-on kit though. I think other manufactures are going to take a wait and see approach. If IFS sells they will jump in. If not they'll ignore that market. Last edited by JatoTheRipper; 02-11-2020 at 07:27 AM. |

Like I said...others have done it over the years. But with the scaler scene being so big now and seeing how everything else has pretty much been done and repeated the IFS scale rigs will take off now. I would be really surprised if not. Funny how element cocked blocked axial by making 3d printed parts available so it works on the Scx10ii also. I'm only interested in it for Pre-Runner builds though. But it needs open diff. Doing it and doing it well are two different things. Judgement is out on this kit pending results.

I'd love to have IFS with lockable diff. First I heard of the Element IFS kit. Guess I need to go use the Googles and check it out.

Only locked diff option with Element. Needs to be able to do both for a PreRunner or atleast be open diff to be stable at high speeds and corner at high speeds. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Hopefully more IFS compatible bodies are released as well. More Nissans would be nice.

| Re: 2020....year of the IFS scaler? On that note, when is someone going to release lexan versions of the current 4runner and Tacoma bodies? Kind of sucks that the only resource for those are mfab 3d printed hard bodies. I'd totally stick IFS under those bodies.

| Re: 2020....year of the IFS scaler? I so selfishly want a scale version of my 3rd gen Tacoma but deep down I know any body will be proportionally ruined by making it a 12.3 inch wheelbase. Give me a proper 1/9-9.5 scale Tacoma with a 13.5-14 inch wheelbase to give it close to the right dimensions or don't mess with my emotions. |
