How much of a difference did the tax on the total make anyway. Round up from whatever your guesstimation is and be done with it. I remember seeing a man vs woman thing; when men go out to eat, each one throws a $20 on the table even if the total was only $25. When women go out to eat they break out the calculators to split up the bill to the penny.

| i just ate out tonight at Dirty Dicks Crab Shack and the bill was around 50 bux for my Gal and I. i tipped 11 bux. thats well over 20% when the usual tipping is around 15%. i usually throw down a 10 for meals anyways.

i never really thought about it, ive always just looked at the bottom line number. but thinking about it now, i live in arlington, they used to have a food tax but im not sure if they still do. so that on top of sales tax could make for a 4 or 5 dollar difference in figuring for the tip. i usually go from 10% up to 25% depending on service and sometimes the cuteness of the waitress. i just dont tip the same to everyone, i hate servers who figure you owe em a tip just because they are there and not for good service. ive been a waiter and tip good when they earn/deserve it, not just to make some ones day.

I just throw a few bucks out if it was good service.....nothing if it was poor service. Screw big tips, they are paid by the hour just like I am. Nobody gives me a tip for every block I lay.

I've left a $5 tip for a $8 lunch. I've also left $2 for a $50 meal. I don't look at the bottom line that much. It all depends on service. BTW, I can't believe none of you have pulled up the Reservoir Dogs quote... Nice Guy Eddie: C'mon, throw in a buck! Mr. Pink: Uh-uh, I don't tip. Nice Guy Eddie: You don't tip? Mr. Pink: Nah, I don't believe in it. Nice Guy Eddie: You don't believe in tipping? Mr. Blue: You know what these chicks make? They make chit. Mr. Pink: Don't give me that. She don't make enough money that she can quit. Nice Guy Eddie: I don't even know a fawking Jew who'd have the balls to say that. Let me get this straight: you don't ever tip? Mr. Pink: I don't tip because society says I have to. All right, if someone deserves a tip, if they really put forth an effort, I'll give them something a little something extra. But this tipping automatically, it's for the birds. As far as I'm concerned, they're just doing their job. Mr. Blue: Hey, our girl was nice. Mr. Pink: She was okay. She wasn't anything special. Mr. Blue: What's special? Take you in the back and suck your dick? Nice Guy Eddie: I'd go over twelve percent for that. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 04-08-2007 at 07:42 AM. |

A mason it's really a mason.....he's a magician. We have to make the crooked arse blocks/bricks look straight I'm sure your pop will get it;) The best part of my job is level work. I REALLY enjoy building arches and any other "fancy" type brick work. You can train a monkey to lay to the line,it takes skill to build with a level and actually be able to sell it. | |

all depends on the service. but some times i'll see a gal having a bad day and still tip her like $10.0 for a $15.00 lunch even with the bad service. alot of times their single mom's w/dead beat dad's and can't cathc a break. i dunno guess i'm stupid like that. my mom was a single mom and had crappy jobs before.:? |

Hated their service? Leave a penny, that way they know you didn't forget to leave them a tip. I usually tip big, everybody hates work so you might as well help that person along. |
