It's kind of hard to break things without a motor.

I've been getting my fix with broken WK parts.

I drive with finesse more than throttle.

When I go out I don't want or intend to break parts, but it happens.

If I'm out crawling and get bound up I'll pick it up.

Same in a comp. No point to breaking and not finishing the course when you can take a reposition.

Talking Silicone parts are made for Toys!

I never said hardcore included being stupid...
Any Idiot can break ANYTHING.

If a tire is so wedged there is no way it would drive out of it then yeah, I'll do a recovery then too. But I wouldn't sit well with that.

My point is, I take my rigs out to break them. If it survives, then its strong enough. If not then, obviously I need to build it stronger.

I am not cool with having one tire bound and being helpless.
I don't run the winch on my fullsize when one tire is bound.

I drive the rig out.

THESE R/C'S ARE NOT DESIGNED TO ROCK CRAWL.

You have to modify them to make it anywhere close to the real deal.

I am just not cool with slapping a set of TLT axles on something and calling it a rock crawler. If the axles are the limit for how much you can load yer rig, then they need to be beefed.

I guess you can still have a good time out rock driving, but you won't be following me.

Yeah, Comps are one thing, but I hold my rig to a higher standard.
Obviously..... Look at you guys happy with your steering servos.

Compare it to a real truck thats like manual steering.
That hydro scorpion.... THATS HARDCORE.

I could care less if my rig scores well with toys
Its how it performs, that is what I am after.

I can't handle watching a clod flop around on the rocks like a retarded ragdoll. Thats not a rock crawler. (just my opinion, relax your panties)

Even out bashing, Every time I drive my rig, I consider it testing.

Till the day I pin the throttle and my drivetrain, and suspension holds back everything JRH's 2HP 3032 brushless can put out.

Then, It will be a real RockCrawler.
Not some plastic toy.

Seriously, I go out to beat the crap out of my rigs and have fun, have you ever seen me crawling without a smile? And do I ever give a crap about what others think? Nope!

I hope you don't think I was talkin smack to ya man.... I know your not a sally...

I was just goin off on how the RC crawlin universe is not like the real rock crawlin.

Take the strength of an XRRA rig, now scale it down. THATS what I am after.

If your not havin fun why do it?

I don't have to break something, but if it happens, I don't really care. I still voted on Hardcore.

Does this feel like a "I have a big e-penis" thread to anyone else?

If I want to break ****, I have a 10 pound sledge in the garage that will do that quite nicely...

Anyone can break anything... Build it strong enough to handle a 2hp outrunner, someone will say you need more power then... never ending cycle...

E-Penis threads have nothing to back the words.

Smashing a glass bottle with a sledge is not the same as applying so much power, that when the weight of the rig comes down It snaps a shaft in the rear but is able to make the obsical because of the momentum the shaft provided before it broke!

Trust me.
The mamba max is ALMOST maxxed out with this motor.
I don't want any other ESC other then a MAMBA MAX.

iF Someone says I need more power, they must not have seen this thing.

I can break anything during normal bashing. Don't need big outrunners, or anything fancy.

I never go out to break my crawlers, think it is kind of stupid to do so. I spend a lot of time and money to build and run them just to tear stuff up. I have never seen it as a badge of honor to bust crap just to break it.

And your analogy that "real" rock crawlers don't break is flawed as well. If those guys beat their rigs, those buggies would, will, and do break.

I'm a hardcore Sally. When I dust my shelf queens I dust hard. No dust mask either. Just a can of Pledge some elbow grease and 5 minutes of my time baby!

Call me a hardcore/sally
I consider it a successful weekend when I win, or place well in a comp, and come home with my trucks in tact. (I also consider it lucky.) My scalers on the other hand, rarely come home running. No, I don't have a portable shop with me to fab things on the rocks, but I certainly can jerry rig most anything on my trucks that I don't have a spare for, to keep it running until I get home. Same goes for the 1:1, a necessity when you don't trailer your rig to the wheeling spot.
Bashing and comps are 2 different things. I'd rather take a reposition penalty and finish the comp, then break and get a DNF. DNF's are just too costly in a comp series. Do I fab much for my trucks? Only the things I can't buy, or I can make just as easy and cheaply. I find it's easier and less costly in most cases to buy from someone building an item then to fab it myself. Can I do a lot of it myself if I wanted to? Yes, but why? when it's easier, less time consuming, and less costly in most cases to buy from a vendor. I can, and have rebuilt most anything on my trucks in the 30 minutes allowed for repairs. These things are pretty simple, you don't need to have a mechanical engineers degree to build/work on them. Be nice to have a CNC handy though

I agree, I can't afford to replace parts just to see what their breaking point is (that's what 666 is for:-P ).

I'm more of a finesse driver and try to plan my line so as not to get a tire wedged, if it happens, I'll push till I feel it's counter productive.

The points incurred for not finishing a stage or being out for the day due to breakage isn't worth it when you could take a touch or reposition penalty.
