| H2 Oh! The Hummer Hard Body Clod Build!
Everyone loves a Hummer right? Except for Jeep guys, but who doesn't dream of owning a Hummer? Well I set out to build my own Hummer. Only 1:6 scale of course, but with 2x the performance! Read on as I go through the process of my build. Pictures included. Note: If this Hummer were real, it would have about 40-44 inch tires and about 25-30 inches of lift. Tools Needed- Dremel, resperator, saftey glasses, time, will, and alot of grinding/cut off wheels. -The Body I recently scored a practically new New Bright Hummer H2 toy from a friend with this awsome hard body. After giving it a good look over, I saw the potential, and started hacking and cutting. I had to remove all of the excess plastic used to hold the body and interior used to keep it in place. One that was done I cut some slots and holes for the cross members of my NN chassis to slide down into. I also cut small slots for zip ties to hold the body down. Unfortunately, the body with interior weighs almost 3.5 pounds . Here are some pictures-- The Interior- More of the interior- Here is where is a is a picture of the front underneath the body- In action! I got a bunch of awsome pictures of it in action. Here they are. Hope you liked this quickie build! I will get a video soon of all of the mods I did to it and of the H2 Oh! Hummer in action! And yes, all of the lights do work. I have recently been having problems with them not wanting to work. Either they have burnt out, or the humidity has messed with the connections. Either way, I will post some more pictures of it with the lights on soon. As for performance, well, lets just say its different! It has much different movement with all of that srung weight on top of the chassis. But suprisingly, it performs pretty dang good. A little easier to tip over on the side, but can still have a pretty steep off camber angle before it tips. Also, because of the front bumper and rear brush guard, it can stand up right pretty well. One problem though is that the extra weight shortens the run time by about 1/3. But its insane fun to drive, and looks awsome all the while. Thanks for reading! Yeah, I'm in the Arizoni part of Ohio. It's the only part of Ohio that it doesn't snow, it's hot as oven, and has no trees. It's a fluke of science, or geography. We're not sure which. |
