"In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. "Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945,13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. "China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. "Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. "Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. "Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated." Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million. The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, ask them "Who Do YOU want to round up and exterminate?" With guns, we are citizens. Without them, we are subjects. |
FIREARMS REFRESHER COURSE 1. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject. 2. A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone. 3. Colt- The original point and click interface. 4. Gun control is not about guns; it's about control. 5. If guns are outlawed, can we use swords? 6. If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words. 7." Free" men do not ask permission to bear arms. 8. If you don't know your rights, you don't have any. 9. Those who trade liberty for security have neither. 10. The United States Constitution (c) 1791. The Second Amendment is in place in case they ignore the others. 13. 64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday. 14. Guns only have two enemies: rust and liberals. 15. Know guns, know peace and safety. No guns, no peace nor safety. 16. You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive. 17. 911 - government sponsored Dial-a-Prayer. 18. Assault is a behavior, not a device. 19. Criminals love gun control -- it makes their jobs safer. 20. If guns cause crime, then matches cause arson. 21. Only a government that is afraid of its citizens tries to control them. 22. You only have the rights you are willing to fight for. 23. Enforce the "gun control laws" we have; don't make more. 24. When you remove the people's right to bear arms, you create slaves. 25. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control. 26. " .. Sounds dandy. I always looked at gun control like this: If someone is going to use a gun in crime they are already breaking the lie ie: robbery, car jacking, ect. so what is it to them to break the gun control law? Now a criminal has to think "dose this person have a gun", you know he is goning to have one regardless if it is legal or not. Reimember its not legal to break into your house, whats breaking two laws in one night? However with strict gun control he\she no longer has to think "dose this person have a gun"......without that thought and a gun of their own.....there isn't much fear with going and taking what they want. |

Just think how unlikely a criminal would commit a crime if he knew 1 out of 2 people have a gun and know how to use it? I keep weapons in a safe area and ready to rock. |

Even if there was stricter gun control criminals would still use them, the police would have more on their plate trying to enforce the law, and there would still be crime. Probably even more violent crime because nobody could deture the criminals from doing what they do.

I'm sure that controlling guns for the law abiding part of the population is a sure-fire way to stop all those thieves, murders, thugs, and robbers from using and obtaining them illegally.

| Criminals aren't that good at math. I make it easy. Break into my house and you have a 100% chance of seeing my gun collection. If I were a criminal, I would be more afraid of my wife then me, she loves her 12 gauge w/ pistol grip. I suggest everyone that is married to take your wife shooting, you will sleep better knowing that if/when she wants to kill you, she won't just mame you.

The best gun control is to teach everyone to shoot, preferably as young as possible. My father taught me to shoot at age 6 (22s) under strict supervision. I fired a Police revolver at age 14 at a police range. (my family was friends with the local police chief) I own a gun, know how to use, and will never point it a living thing unless I want to kill that living thing. I think that many punks out there have no idea what devastation a firearm can cause and are way to careless. The idea of bringing a gun to school would never have entered my mind. Thats my $0.02! |

Guns don't kill people stupid people with guns kill people. If a child is learns about guns at an early enough age and is around guns enough then they are not so curious about them. And as much as I hate to use this phrase. Curiosity killed the cat or your best friend, or sibling. Gun safety is just as important as our right to bare arms. |

I don't have a dog in this, but I haven't had a weapon since Vietnam 1968 and I don't miss it at all.

The only people these laws stop are people who abide by the laws, which means if they follow these petty rules they're obviously going to follow the rules of murder, etc. So people who are willing to take another persons life aren't going to give a crap about about some petty gun control! Having a gun doesn't make you a criminal, it just makes you less likely to become the victim of a criminal...

one problem with the "7 out of 10 houses have guns" argument: Criminals are STUPID. They don't read studies on how many houses have guns or read up on the psychological effects of gun ownership. They need a crack fix and will break into the first house/car/whatever they see just to get a buck or two. So unless you carry a shotgun over your shoulder (in plain sight) where ever you go, the criminals aren't going to give a rats a$$ if you are an NRA member and might have a gun in your house. Gun control: The ability to hit your target, every time. Anyone unwelcome in my house will quickly learn where I keep my .45 - ie usually on my person. They will also find out that +P has nothing on my handloads, and potentially even have the myth that .45's are not usable beyond 15 yards laid to rest - shortly before they are laid to rest. My wife is, unfortunately, no comfortable with my larger handguns, and I have disuaded her from thinking of using the .22 pistol she likes in the event of an emergency. Much the worse for anyone who breaks in because she now uses my shotgun instead. |
