You can make way more power with EFI.

Because its like pouring fuel directly into the engine... plus they use ethanol.

There is only so much power you can make using gas by adding a larger carb without bolting on some form of forced induction. With an EFI system you can tune it to near perfection, getting the best air fuel mixture resulting in best performance and more power.

First off, how would it be any different with a different fuel? By the way, they use 85% Nitromethane, not Ethanol.

A properly tuned carb setup will outperform an EFI setup. EFI is constantly tuning itself. You have to tune the carb. This is why EFI is preferred for daily drivers and new cars. It is always in tune. However, for absolute performance a well-tuned carb is still king.

Here's an article for you to read. http://www.pro-system.com/scoop92102.html

Top fuel & funny cars run mechanical fuel injection. Pro stockers run carbs. The only reason NASCAR & NHRA racers don't run EFI is because it isn't allowed. Warren Johnson has said the cars would be faster if it were allowed, and that's coming from a guy who has done thousands of hours in carb r&d.

Direct quote from the legendary W.J.

"Properly tuned, carburetors make more peak power than EFI in a Pro Stock engine. A carb’s pressure differential atomizes the gas a lot better than spraying fuel through an orifice. But EFI has a broader powerband and superior cylinder-to-cylinder fuel distribution. The 1,100- to 1,300-cfm dual carbs are good only over a narrow range, about 1,500 rpm at most. EFI performs well over 2,000 rpm or more. On average, if optimized, both systems perform about the same as far as how fast you get down the track. However, the EFI system is much easier to tune than a carburetor."

He's talking about Pro-Stock though. Not a ton in common with the 572 Caddy.

Only on RCC could a kinda-cool vid of a late model Caddie smoking tires turn into a carb/FI debate.

Hrrrm

Why make it sound like a race car if it looks stock and is running standard tires?

Cool, but pointless.

Make it quiet and it'll be a fun car.

Robb...nice avatar.

I agree, put 3 in exhaust with giant mufflers to make it quiet. Go around and mess with everyone.

I love the sound. Put some nice electric exhaust cutouts to make it quiet but when you stop at he red light...open them up and scare the ricer next to you!
