Here are the added features the new Classifieds system has:
  • Registration is the same as the forums.
  • It is integrated with the forum so you can easily check seller feedback ratings, and forum reputation/post count as a guide to the seller's reliability
  • Sellers can place classified ads for fixed prices or with optional eBay style bidding enabled
  • Sellers can upload 6 photos to display with each classified ad
  • SOLD IT! and RELIST IT! options to disable/re-enable ads
  • User feedback system to provide ratings and feedback for buyers and sellers
  • Contact seller page allows buyers to contact sellers without revealing seller email address. This will send the seller an email as well as send then a message in the Classifieds system
  • Allow Users to Buy your Ad via Paypal Immediately, eliminating the hassles of waiting for a potential buyer to get back to you if they want it and to send payment.
  • You can add certain ads to a Watch List to help you to keep track of ads your interested in.
  • You can "Subscribe to Category" to have the Classifieds system send you an email when new ads are posted in that category.
  • You can post comments directly to the ads
  • After 30 days the ad expires and is removed from the system.
**This is a RCLS exclusive right now to see how it works, we may not do the same thing here on RCC**
You will also notice the classifieds system has a "Vendors Market", for now this is for select vendors to sell their products that can't be sold in their retail store because the item has a ding or is an old model or has been returned. This will be a great place to find good deals on the type of products I mentioned.

**The below pricing is for RCLS, I am not sure if we will charge per ad here or how much**
Placing a basic ad will be free, upgrading to highlighted (lighter grey background) is $0.50, upgrading to bold title is $0.50, and upgrading to italic title is $0.50 which is paid via paypal when you place the ad.

And, the Honcho shit category would be the same as a scaler shit category.
This looks GREAT! I say for rccrawler.com. A very professional looking and running system.

Those classifieds are more than a step up from ours.

If we were to do this, i'd think

Rigs (for complete comp or scale rigs)
Electronics
Scale accessories
Comp accessories

I'm not being 100% serious, I just really admire one off builds, and clones. Your yota was one of the reasons I signed up to the forums here... 1Bad's bronco was another... not a honcho. ahaha
It's these types of rigs I consider to be scalers. Just about anyone can purchase the axial products and have themselves a " sick scaler " in a matter of hours. The real scalers are what Zach is turning out every other week. I wish I had his attention span, maybe I could actually finish a project. Hey, how about a " project for sale " category, or maybe " rigs for restore " ???

The honcho is a great rig, I am not disrespecting it all. In fact I wouldn't even mind owning one...
To cut up and make something cool out of.
If only I could get something done.

If you did make a distinguished honcho category I promise, I will laugh out loud and maybe even roll out the roflcopter.

If we were to split the FS section up, one quick way to do it would be to divide it up like the Vendors market, when you click on that it shows sub-categories that I think could work in the FS section.

It would definitely take some time to get use to, but I like the format and it would definitely make it easier to find specific items. Rather than someone listing one ad with a RTR truck, a chassis, a servo, an ESC, some links, some tires, etc they would have an ad for the RTR and then other ads in different sections and would be easier for buyers to track down.

I really like the idea of being able to add ads to a "watch list".

I just noticed the Statistics window on the left side...that's nice...I've wondered how much I've bought and sold several times.

I just checked it out and it looks great! Does this make it more or less difficult for the mods to approve ads though? I would think that it would be more difficult to make sure everything is listed in the proper place, or is there a more automated way of making sure that happens?

i really dont think there should be a fee to place a ad though.. i think only star holding members should be able to. not just someone with 30 posts. now as to the upgraded ad .50 a ad would be alright and i love the idea..

too bad when you fill out an ad, you aren't required to actually use a drop-down menu method. This would automatically put posts in their respective section without much mod-interaction. This way, everything would go to is specific location, and the only 'custom' fields would be the descriptions..even maybe a 'price range' drop down and things like 'will/will not ship' or a built in shipping calculator that knows the sellers zip code, and the prospective buyers can put in their zip code and get estimates from UPS and stuff without asking the seller for quotes, and this reduces email traffic too..

but..I cant quite see the section yet, so my .02 may only be worth .01 right now
