| Nor-Cal 2005 - Rock Crawling Competition, Event #1 - NEW LOCATION!! Nor-Cal 2005 - Rock Crawling Competition, Event #1 What: Event #1 for 2005 When: 01 Oct 05 Time: 9:00 AM Registration - 10:00 AM Competition Starts Where: Hyde Park, San Carlos Directions: http://www.nor-calrcrc.com/modules.p...rtid=13&page=1 Weather Forecast: The forecast looks to be sunny and warm. ~77º For up to date forecast, visit here: Weather Forecast Details: Nor-Cal Crawlers are calling out all locals to participate in the Nor-Cal 2005 Rock Crawling event series. This series is starting late this year, but will be completed by the end of 2005. This is going to be a test of putting events together so we can prep for a big 2006 season(so don't get your panties in a bunch if things aren't perfect). There are 4 events planned placed 3 weeks apart to help you prepare yourself and rig for the next event. Event #1 will be held at Hyde Park, San Carlos on Saturday 01 Oct 05. Here is a list of all events for the rest of the season:
This will be a "bring what you have" event and vehicles will be run on the same courses using RCCrawler.com established rules. Any modifications to the rules will be agreed upon prior to the start of the event. You are limited to running 1 vehicle per class which may be limited further if there are too many entrants. Each vehicle will run in their own class running for their class points. Also, you will be running up against every other class for an over all points race. So this is the chance for the limited class crawlers to show that they can keep up with unlimited class type rigs. So in the end, you will see a ranking of how you did in your class and overall amongst all competitors. To sign up, please contact me with the following information:
Good luck and we will see you on the rocks. Note: This posting will be revised to clarify information for the event. Last edited by badger; 09-27-2005 at 10:36 PM. |

Information updated: - Added Badger's "everyone is doing these damn flyers" flyer for the competition. - Added Weather Information - Added Directional Information - Added Park Information I am working on my rig to be finished on time. I still have a bit to go and I may not get to even work out any bugs. So, you guys should be able to walk all over me in this comp Not that any practice would help me anyway. -Sam |

My recommendation is to park outside the park so you don't have to pay a fee (if you are pinching pennies). Hike up the trail to the left just inside the parking lot entrance up to Castle Rock. The area isn't that big, so it shouldn't be hard to find everyone. There are a few croppings of rocks, so if we aren't at one cropping, we will be at another. Once again though, it isn't all that big so we shouldn't be hard to find. -Sam |

I had the owner the local hobby shop post up a flier. But the last thing we need are more people from Santa Cruz. |

Am I missing something here? Are Santa Cruz crawlers that evil or something? Skyjacker, is there something I should be afraid of Damn, only days away and I am still scrounging up time to fabricate. I have an hour before I have to be somewhere else, so off to the machine shop. You guys are gonna SMOKE me for lunch this weekend. However, if you make me look stupid, I will just have to run into your leg with my crawler. Exposed sharp sheet metal and 30 pound weight and all See you guys this weekend. -Sam (ignore my name misquote. I meant Skyjacker not PWT. It's all fixed now) Last edited by SlinkySam; 09-27-2005 at 09:21 PM. |

Hey pretty cool. I just jumped over to the local hobby store in San Carlos here (hole in the wall with TONS of stuff and good information) and what do I see on the wall? No not urine, but a Nor-Cal competition poster. Pretty cool. Asking inside, they told me it was you Badger. Any other places you tag? -Sam |

Speaking of tonight, when is a good time for you? Earlier the better for me tonight if you can. I actually got my crawler to the point where it can drive (sort of). I was stoked last night at first fire up. It appeared to be much more stable than the previous setup, though I doubt it's anywhere near your rig's stability. It is still pretty neat though. There's a lot more to do, but it actually ran 8-) . -Sam Last edited by SlinkySam; 09-27-2005 at 04:02 PM. | |
