Default Central Missouri Comp #4

Central MO RC Rock Crawlers’ 4th rock crawling competition will be Saturday May 6th at 10 AM at Cosmo Park in Columbia Missouri. There will be a Super Crawler Class and a 2.2 Class. There are no prizes other than bragging rights. That reminds me, Travis and I are the ones to beat this time as the winners from comp 3. We had a great turnout at the last comp and I hope everyone had fun. As always, spectators are welcome.

Directions to the Comso Park Rock Crawling Hill:
  • Get from wherever you are to Columbia, MO.
  • Then get off I-70 at the West Blvd exit (# 125).
  • If coming from the West, go under the I-70 overpass towards the round-about. If comming from the East, you'll already be at the round-about.
  • Go around the round-about to head West on Business Loop 70 West (the second street leading out of the round-about).
  • Turn right on Schwabe Lane just after you pass Memorial funeral home.
  • Turn left on Parkside Drive and continue until you reach another round-about.
  • Take the first right out of this round-about and park in the gravel parking lot on the right.
  • Look for a bunch of guys with RCs standing around.
See everyone there.

It's about 2 1/2 weeks from the comp. Time to finish up those rebuilds and get practicing.

I'll be there with my soon-to-be built new chassis. Hopefully I'll have it finished by Saturday so I can try it out. It should prove to be a very good comp!

I'm planning one course this time instead of two short corses. Probably 10-14 gates of climbing, decending, off camber and tight spots. This one is going to be fun. I'm hoping to avoid anyone finishing with zero penalty points this time.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the new trucks.

I'll be there. I have the new P4 chassis finished and ready to try out. I may see if I can get to Cosmo sometime this week to try out the setup since we got rained out this weekend.

I hope to see a lot of new faces at this comp and hopefully at others during the season. I know the STL area has several crawlers and would love to see them make it to Central MO.

See ya'll on Saturday!

Some pics of Cosmo can be found at the following links.
December Cosmo comp and Cosmo crawling

And before anyone asks why we had a comp with 6" of snow on the ground, it's because we're crazy.

Well it's a secret ritual. New this year it includes some sheep, baby oil and chocolate sprinkles! So just show up and we will explain it. Oh, it is mandatory to sign the video waver!

Our club is pretty informal. All it really takes is show up to our weekly events, play nice and to add CMRCRC to your sig and your in the club. You can visit the club message board at http://www.4wdthunder.net for information on our weekly crawls.

Damn, I was hoping that I could get reinstated as per the requirements set by Dez!

Kelly's right, though. Our "club" is pretty informal and the only requirements that we have for membership is to bring your crawler and have fun on the rocks! I think that a formal club can sometimes take away the fun and diminish the reason why we all get together in the first place.

The current forcast for Saturday is Partly Cloudy with a high of 67 degrees. This may turn out to be a perfect day for rock crawling.
