| Nor-Cal Competition Series - Event #5
Are you rigs ready? Can you handle another one? Things have heated up here in the Nor-Cal and so has the competition season. It is time for #5 on Saturday June 24th. That’s right you crawling addicts, the Nor-Cal rock crawling competition series event #5 jumped on us without warning. This round we are headed back to Bean Hollow where there are free formed rocks as far as the eye can see and takes 3 to 4 battery pack charges to drive from one end to the other. When you are crawling the bean, you can always expect high traction and really tough obstacles that want to grab your truck and not let go. Previous event sites had more boulder to boulder crawling where as the Bean is generally a rolling, twisting, gnarly, inter connected playground. Currently in the series we have great point battles going on: In the Super Crawler class, Matt and Jason F are battling it out with only 20 points between them. Don’t look back guys because just behind you are Daniel and Dustin tied a mere 5 points back. Keith and Bernie are just another 15 from there, so we have a big group vying for top honors. In the 2.2 Scale class, Sam with his Jeep Rubicon is edging out the competition with 35 points above the next runner up Badger in his Bronco. Dean is pulling a 3rd place at the moment with his ultra scale Cruiser and sneak attack Dustin is coming from a huge deficit and first entry into the scale class to take 4th place. He has proven his rig is capable and shows it with a win on his first run out and a 2nd on his second run. In the 2.2 Advanced, Mike C and Jered are separated by a mere 10 points. 10 points!!! It’s anyone’s game here. Oh, but look out. Dean has a rare FJ-45 Cruiser creeping up behind just 5 points further back. This is one series you can’t miss. So where is the Bean? Bean Hollow State Beach 11000 Cabrillo Hwy, Pescadero, CA 94060, US Remember, we will be parked along highway 1, North of the main Bean Hollow parking lot. It is approximately a 1/4 mile North from the Bean Hollow beach itself. So if you hit the parking lot, turn around and go back North again. -Sam |
