Unimoger can you clarify the wheel weight rule?

I have a narrowed Masher 2000 with a RC4WD narrow beadlock and it weighs 6.7 oz.

A full masher with a full rim would weighs more than that as well.

I was also wondering if the weight rule applied to both 1.9's and 2.2's.

we deceided that the rule of 6 total oz's will apply to 1.9's and 8 total oz's for 2.2's. That is total weight, wheel+tire+weights or lead or whatever you use.

for the normal 2.2 comp tlt rigs, aka nats style rigs, there is no wheel weight limit as per usrcca rules.

Basically, if someone feels you are a bit of a fatty, we will unbolt your wheels and throw them on a scale, if you are porky, you get a dnf on that course and can fix the weight for the next course.

I am glad you cleared that up, I thought the 6 oz. was for 2.2's also! I just bought me a set of unglued swamp dawgs to go on my new RRP black beadlocks and was sweating the 6oz rule... I still need to get over to Kris' and weigh the new combo.

I'm building a new rig for this event. I am a little concerned about the rules for the body and where the tires sit. I am going to build something similar to the rig below. It will not have Clod axles and it will have a full ladder frame. The body will be cut like below and the wheelbase will be the same 12.5" because that works out to 102" in 1/8 scale. A good number for 40" tires.

Is this a street truck class or are crawlers allowed? Most people build scale versions of modified vehicles but usually the wheelbase is stock (fits within the wheelwells). I want to know if I can bring my scale Top Truck Challenge rig. Will this be ok?

EDIT After going over the agenda and Knowing what other goodies we have in store for you, I say build It, bring it. It does seem kinda Compish for my Idea of "scale" but I know there are some seriously modded 1:1 street legal rides out there.

as long as it has scale goodies and looks like a 1:1 as it does, I say , hell yes!

BTW, we may be having a Top Truck Challenge at the event also. MTRCRC club has been chatting about it all week. Tank trap, sled pull, mud bog and log course, stay tuned, more scale stuff coming everyday!

The idea behind it is to build something similar to my friend Marlon's rig.


While it may not necessarily be street "legal" it certainly is street drivable. He does drive his on the street quite often as all of us do.
It will have an MSD rack, interior, lights, bumpers, a really cool suspension, etc depending on what I can get done. It should also be running a prototype Warn 8274 winch based on a Hitec servo motor. My friend says he even has the free spool worked out.

Yea it does. If you strecthed the wheelbase to a scale 112" it would be very similar.

Badger has always wanted to make that blue bronco from TTC, he wanted BrandO to do the tube and chassis work then finish it, but it just never happened. I would LOVE to see that thing in 1:10 scale, VERY cool!

It has Ford 9" axles mated to unimog portals. Depending on funds it would be cool to run the RC4WD portals to build something similar. Mine will have Ford 9" axles.

Only 2 trucks?

Between Pinch and I we have 2 layers high of rigs where bringing in the bed of the truck. I think I alone will have 12.

2 rigs.....Pffffff, try like 4-6 each biatch!

I can't wait to see you break down and cry during this comp :-)
