Yup, rear steer will be gone on the 2.2's.

Other than talking about the rules at the comps, did I miss the discussion on this somewhere?

btw....I am Rob

For a newbie, if the last comp is next does that mean the new "season" starts 7-29? So two seasons in a year?

Yes we do have another season coming up. Usually we take a short break between seasons. I'm sure there will be a poll up soon on when to start the second season.

We can discuss changing over to the nationals rules in here. What is everyone's thoughts on it? I'll put up a poll as well.

It also looks like the same crew that went to nationals last year will be going this year. Tony, Mike, and Jay, will all of you be attending the nationals and competing? Let me know so I can post up in the nationals thread. In addition, I have already reserved rooms in Utah for us for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

I read through the rules and it looks like the changes that would affect the most are:
No rear steer
Roll over
Max Points
Body size
Is this it? Or did I miss something.

I believe those are the major differences.

I don't think the max points should be used, all the other rules are fine.

Up North here at NARCCA we kept the max points at 10 per gate. and final gate with additional 10 points if you for a DNS and of course -1 for progression points, too keep it more fun for those who just want to have fun

10 points max per gate?!? Could you explain the logic on that one brian?

The max points on a gate is there not just to keep the comp moving along but also to button up a statistical problem if people can not compete on all of the courses at a comp. If you do not compete on the final course using the USRCCA rules you recieve a 50 point DNS. This will stop the fuzzy math the always makes the guy that breaks or has to go to work loose even if he drives better on the first two stages.

P.S. Pointing out on a stage is no more humbling than timing out...

So was I. lets say we have 8 gates and the finish gate, max points would be 90 points to point out.

If you complete all the gates with no penalties then you would have a minus 8 score.

if you dont finish any of the gates you get an automatic 10 for each gate not finished and no deduction for the non finished gates. It works well and e have never had any issue with scoring. those who DNF OR DNS always have a higher score than those who run.

We also allow 1 minute per gate to finish the course.

Our thoughts on a club level is to keep it moving and keep it fun and competitive.

Scoring is very easy with the sheet that we use now, I believe CLOAK uses it also

So if you hit a boundary before a gate you have to pick up and go past the next gate? Sounds a little like making you pick up after double bogie in golf. And isn't hiting a gate 10 pts, shouldn't you get a better score by getting though a gate under your own power yet hit the gate, than just placing your truck past the gate?

There is no difference on ow we score the points just have more points to use. IT does not matter how you get to 10, ten is 10, and if you hit a boundary line you are DQ'd and get max score from that point forward.

I just mistyped. I wanted to say max points for the stage as that is what the 40 point dnf and 50 point dns is all about.

I think brians 10 point a gate thing had me scratching my head. lol

yeah we just run our points per gate for totals and ad 10 for DNS

so max points onthe course for 6 gates would be

70 for a DNS gates + 10
60 for a DNF gates

I agree with all the rules except max points per stage. Take our last comp for example.

Look at how many people would've pointed out and not got to drive the whole stage. I think this would be very discouraging to new drivers. Just like at Moab last year the comment was "we want people to drive, not carry their trucks over the course". I know alot of us sure did alot more carrying than driving.
