| My modded cliff climber
Here's my Cliff Climber. Stock ESC (for now) Traxxas TQ remote and 2-channel receiver Clocked front axle & extended chassis using Traxxas turnbuckles (part numbers #5138 front upper links and #5139 for all the rest of the links) makes wheelbase 12" Hitec 645 for front steering and locked out rear steering (working on possible rear steering using 3rd channel) Proline hammer tires Traxxas shocks Metal gears front and rear Banebots motors on order relocated one battery to front axle http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...limber/002.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...limber/003.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...limber/004.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...limber/005.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...limber/001.jpg |

| Rear steer lockout: $.50 Modify Tires to get way better grip: $0 Cut Stock foams in half thickness wise: $0 8 oz lead in each fron tire: $10 (self-sticking lead tabs and solder (yes, solder) wrapped around the rim; no lead in the rear, as the rear has a battery pack) 6-32 allthread, 1/4" brakeline, Traxxas old emaxx ball ends: $12 total 12.5" wheelbase use servo tape under clamps clamps: $3 25% better articulation batteries: from a busted black and decker 16.8 drill (4/5sc Nicd 1000mah, currently taking 1368mah (?!?!): $0 trim body so batteries clear in front ebay used trx 2075 servo and trx old emaxx Servo Saver: $15 total i mounted the top link to the inside hole on the top and used a trx ball as a spacer and them mounted the bottom link to the outside holes on the bottom of the knuckles. the result is 50% better steering, and total lockout (the knuckles touch the axle now, eliminating the need for rear steer as well) no, I WIN for biggest electronics!! metal gears in the rear gearbox: $27 having a $176.50 Duratrax CC (Anderson Model "Crawler-X") (that outperforms ALL stock Axials: Priceless:-P yeah, i was dumb and got the RTR; the stock ESC is TRASH, absolute trash (any kind of blip resets it, and it zeroes out the throttle no matter where it is (one time it did it when i had it at full throttle, leading to it going full speed in reverse (16.8v=5mph , a decent jog) |

Hey guys. New to the site but not to RC. This is my first crawler, and I've built this more for trail running than crawling, but I do on occasion hit the rocks with it. Other than the body mods, and rear steer lockout it is a stock ARR running on a single Hyperion 2s lipo, and a cheapy 1/10 ESC. Anyway here's a few pics. |

Ok guys, yesterday I won an original Blackfoot body on ebay, so I decided to see what the Parma Blackfoot body currently on the truck would look like on the CC. I moved all of the scale accessories and the driver over to it, and got it mounted. The only thing I don't like is that I can't use my grill, and now I have to wire up a whole new set of lights, but other than that I'm pretty happy with the way it looks. |

i added 2 Banebots motors and kept the 16.8v now it is alot faster (a RUN for a 7-year old) and has alot more torque (i worry about the toothpicks that are in there, next upgrade is CVDs, now that the trannies are all Metal.) total additional upgrade cost: $13 shipped for the motors, yes both of them and $28 shipped for metal (each set) ( i tried a set of stock axial AX10 tires and beadlocks, which promptly scrapped the plastic gears) |
