I used the Triton 2, but have recently switched to the Hyperion 0610i Duo, and I will say this "I AM NEVER GOING BACK"!!! It is an awesome charger with endless capabilities, and it is upgradeable. Grabbed it from a seller through Ebay and bought 2. They were very reasonable price wise, and they just flat let you take control of all aspects of your charging. The TCS is nice also, letting you throw a percentage of a charge into the battery for say a Lipo that you need quick, you can do 90% charge which is great for a crawler and takes considerably less time to charge...I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS |

You cant go wrong with the Hyperion EOS0606i AC/DC Balance Charger. it has a built in power supply, Charges NIMH, NICD, Lipo & A123, 1-14 NIMH-NICD, 1-6 Lipo, 1-6 A123 cells. Does it all for $150 I currently run a Hyperion EOS0610iDUO Balance Charger because i found out that i constantly need to charge more than one battery(mostly on track days with nicd's). U cant go wrong with max-amps Last edited by Stick King; 11-13-2008 at 09:42 PM. Reason: if u look around u can find one cheap. they are money well spent. |

| I use the 606I and hook it up to my car battery and it works perfectly. At work we use a MRC Superbrain 960 for batteries (except Lipo).

I just recently bought a Hyperion 606i and I like it as well. A quality AC charger is what the market has been looking for. I am a racer and it doesn't do everything I need it to do and that's why I have my CheckPoint 1030. Between these two chargers, I am set.

the 0606i shows each cell voltage. You have to hit the mode button while charging, then scroll up. The 0403i shows cell voltages too, you must hit the battery type button while charging, then scroll down two. If the astro isn't too big, I would pick up the 0403. If it is old and big, the 0606 is nice and small do it all.

Yes, commonly called the "balance tap".

Are there any other options that are needed in a Lipo charger that are not in these Glad to see you have the 403 instock My (8+ yr old) Astro Flight 110D is aprox 2"H x 6" x 8"w, runs great, no lipo. I'm visiting in Florida and checked out a hobby shop, the guy recommended a Triton, is was charger only, he said he has been charging his Lipo for 4 years and never balanced it. Not sure I'm going to believe it. But I did not see a reason to spend $75. on a charge only and another $74. on balancer and $12. for a digital reader.

No other options that I am aware of. Fancier ones can give you cell resistance and such, but that isn't needed.

Sounds like your battery may not have a balance tap? The little white plug on this one. |

One of my Lipo's has an internal balance board. But all my other LiPo's have a balancing port of somekind. One problem I ind is that there are a few to many styles out there. I have four different types of balancers just to charge them all.
