for crawling in my clod with 9 tooth pinions and 6 cells 55 turns is faster than i like. i think 60 would be perfect, or i would like to try 5 pole motors.

I'd say integy lathe motors with a smoother water tight endbell. So the motors can be run in mud without fouling up. The case wouldn't get caught up on rocks.

It is cheaper to produce motors without brushes. |

Ha ha! I got 2 of each: 35t, 45t, and 65t. And I already have the usual 55t. I get to try em all! |

wait until more competition enters the market. A top of the line brushless motor is still expensive just like a nice brushed motor, but there hasnt been enough U.S. market exposure to drive down feigao type motor prices. They will never be quite as cheap as ceramic magnet motors, but they wont be as weak and ineffiecient either. | |

Well here they are. Astroflight cobalt torque monsters! Notice The hand wound and balenced 7 pole armatuer, big brushes, Sealed type construction, ten colbalt type earth magnets, machined aluminum case, and brass hardware. Any more questions why they cost that much? |

OHHHH look at that thin gap between the ohh so thin magnets. Heat dissipates quicker from the arm since it has less distance to travel. I love the work that goes into Quality Motors. Good buy. Those look like they are in great condition. |

Yeah they are is great shape . They were only run enough to break them in from what I can see. Those magnets are very strong just like they should be. I was very happy to find them and cant wait to run them. Ill let ya know how it goes. But for crawling they may need a gear reduction but will probably have the torque to pull it through anything at very low throttle due to the desighn. Its called efficiency. The best part is that these motors will go like a bat out of hell when asked. |

can you measure the rpm per volt of them? Im guessing 2500, but its just a guess.

Actually I just looked at an astroflight motor chart and the 7 turn is 2100 rpm per volt so these should be around 1800? These are no longer made so its hard to find any info on them.

yeah, if not lower. If one were to want comperable performance in brushed, they could get the 7 turn cobalt and gear it back down to suit.

I have an optical tach to measure rpm. The Cobalt 05 motors would be a pretty good replacement if you geared back down for slow speed. the cobalt 15's would work too, but they would want more voltage to get snappy. |
