Default Airtronic 94780 Servo Users

I have just noticed on my Airtronics 94780 servo that I have slack in the output shaft.

Here is a pic. I was running a Robotronics servo arm and you can see where it was contacting the case.

Here is a video of it.

Has anyone had this issue? I have pulled it apart and there is no signs of wear on the inside of the case where the bearing for the output shaft rides. Everything looks to be in order.

Mine works perfectly. From your vid, it sorta looks like the servo horn is wobbling on the output, but the output may not neccesarely be woblbing. Maybe the servo horn as started to widen over time. Try using another horn, and see if you sitl lhave the porblem.

The servo horn on the it in the video is brand new, never used...just installed it. The shaft is clearly moving. I have pulled the servo horn off and I can wiggle it a little bit. This would explain why the servo is getting a little hotter than normal here lately....gears are binding up.

**EDIT**
Broke out the video camera.
Video now is a better shot.

Pretty sure it's the center case needs to be replaced. Mine should be here in a few days and I'll find out for sure. With my servo I replaced the top case and it didn't really help, so I believe the center case hole has gotten beat up a bit.

I'll find out soon and report back when I get the part. It cost one dollar at Globalservices.com

Good catch......the piece around the POT was broke. I guess that would be considered the middle case.

How's the bearing right there at the end of the output shaft? Does it have excessive play?

Is the motor glued in?

This damn glue/silicon that they used to cover all the connections are a PITA

The "middle case" is extremely brittle. I got the board and POT out. I hope the pats that I ordered were correct. :? Hope that I haven't trash a $120 servo.

Lotsa broken pieces. Hmmm. By brittle you mean look at it the wrong way and it'll break?

I'll get a picture up when I get mine. Got an email it shipped.

:-(

Anyone wanna buy my servo used? It only has 2 runs on it, that too on a savage with a loose servo saver.

The casing around the electronics board is very brittle...yeah just about look at it and it'll break. I had to tear it all the way apart to figure out how to get the board and POT out. It has a tab (hole beside pot)...you have to release that tab and it should pull straight out. I couldn't get the tab to release, so I did that next best thing....tear it up.

There is a screw that looks to be holding the POT down under the board, but it's not. I am still not sure what the purpose of it is.
