The Rooster he has is only rated for a 2s Li-Po daddy-0! 3s will void the warranty and could fry it!

Your running a 48t Spur and a 16t Pinion? You need to move that Spur up to a 80T+ daddy-0!!!!! That Spur is way to small!!!!!!!!!!! That could be a lot of your prob right there!!!!

Uh, I don't know...? I mean it's not like he would be running a 32P Spur on it before? I would hope your right though. If he was running a 48t Spur it wouldn't climb at all! If he went to a 16t Pinion and had a 85 or 87t Spur his final drive would be 40.87 and 44.62.

So if he does have a 48t Spur with a 16t Pinion he's looking at a 3:1 primary gear ratio! Stock Axial #'s are......

Primary Gear Ratio: 6.2:1
Transmission Ratio: 2.6:1
Axle Ratio: 2.9:1
Final Drive Ratio: 46.7:1

So if he did have a 48t Spur that would throw things WAY OFF! 22.6:1 Final Drive

Not that I have ever been told. All the BEC does is let the ESC power the motor only and the BEC gives power to the RX and servos. I know that Novak doesn't say that if you run a external BEC that you can run a 3s lipo. This is from Novak for the Novak Rooster Crawler ESC....

"If using Ni-Cd or Ni-MH batteries, NEVER use fewer than 4 or more than 7
cells (4.8-8.4VDC, 1.2VDC/cell) in the vehicle’s main battery pack.
If using Li-Po batteries, ONLY use a 2-cell pack for the vehicle’s main
battery & be sure to use Profile 2 with the built-in Li-Po cut-off."

thanks for eceryones help!

I ended up getting a motor from Jason. The problem was in the motor its self. Must have screwed up in the winding? But at least I now have a motor and now can fix the one I screwed up on.

k my bad, i do know its not rated for 3s..many esc,s will perform over rated when useing an external bec..not sure the mechanics of it..and they are brushless controllers but i have mamba max,s that would run 4s all day no problem and a quark that will go an extra 3s with a external bec i know someone who runs a 3s rooster and absolutly works. in his case..but i will certianly not recomend anyone do it i wouldnt want anyone to possibly wreck thier gear. i dont mind expermenting on my own if i feel theres enough info out there..but i shouldnt put it out as fact
thanx

I would like to know why running a BEC would allow you to go up another cell in your ESC? And yes a Mamba Max will handle a 4s, you just have to put the ESC on setting #6 so that the voltage cut off is 12v

" A MUST USE setting for 4 cell
(14.8v) Lithium Polymer packs.
You will irreversibly damage your
packs using a lower cutoff voltage!"

But what your saying is if I use a BEC on my Mamba Max I can run a 5s Li-Po pack? I don't think so. But if you can show me where this is said by any of the manufactures I will say I am sorry;)
