Angry Radio problems????

I just got a tq3 radio for my crawler and it won't drive any more then 15 feet away from me. If my antena in down the truck wont even go 3 feet from me before stopping. I checked my crystals, the antena everything is set up the same way I had it with my 2 channel radio. Any thoughts as to what I can do to fix this??

You'll need to give a little more info:

What Rx, What Esc, What motors, How many capacitors on the motors?

more info. I use 2 integy 55 turn motors, super rooster esc and that is it. I don't have any thing hooked to the motors. I ran my truck with an airtronics XL2P radio this same way and all I did was switch to the new TQ3 radio w/ reciever. I don't know what the rx is..

The rx is the reciever. How long is the antenna on the reciever? Does it have any damage?

the antenna on the reciever is really long. I would say it is easily a foot long, and there doesn't appear to be any damage.

if you dont have capacitors on the motor, it may have that affect on the radio.

It should be more than a foot long. Mine is too much of a pain in the a$$ to take off and unwind and measure but IIRC it should be 20-24".

I've found that if the antena wire is close to motor wires or battery wires,it will cause several different problems. Try isolating the antena so it's a few inches away from any other wires.

Might help.

The antena wire on my Rx got cut when it got tangled in the spur gear once. It's now only about 13" or 14". I've not seen any adverse effects yet, seems to work just fine.

My antena wire is about 23 inches long, and is nowhere near any other wires. My bro in law has the exact same set up with no capacitors on the motors and it works great.

because someone says they had some bad ones, doesnt mean you have to buy a new one.

I understand that, but all I did was remove my 2 channel setup (which worked great) and put in a 3 channel. No other changes were made. My upper links are tip tied to the frame so i don't have suspension travel, for better performance. It didn't give me problems before, but I will check that out..

try to remove all electronics and test it like that. make sure the rx wire is far from any power lines and there is no interference and also make sure you have at least one cap on the motor.
