| Programming Sidewinder with JR xs3
I just finished buttoning up my sons Honcho but im having problems programming his sidewinder with the JR XS3 radio. I reset the XS3 to default but when i go to program it i get full forward programming but my reverse is so weak. I do have reverse but its soooo slow. I followed all programming instructions but still nothing. I also plugged in the ESC to the Castle link and made sure everything was set correctly and it is. I even moved the reverse strength to 100% but i think its a programming issue. I get the chimes telling me that forward is programmed but when i hit reverse on the TX to program reverse, the ESC just blinks red and has that regular beep tone. PLease help! He (my son) wants to drive his rig BAD!!

I wish you the best of luck I am going through about the same thing with mine right now but I am getting closer. I'm new at this but I can give you one bit of advice on the programming. PATIENCE, I tried to program mine at least 10 times befor I finally got to where it finally took, one thing I think I was doing wrong is as I was going through the programming sequence I was switching to the next step too fast and not giving it time to completly take. The last time I done it I let it set through the sequences for several seconds each time. Don't know if this will help you any but good luck.

With the XS3 set your throttle EPA's to 125% for both forward and reverse. Set your throttle reverse setting to normal. Also the XS3 has a brake EPA (grip button A) Make sure this is set to max (125% i think it goes up to). Recalibrate you ESC an see what happens you can get a slow reverse if you calibrate the ESC with the brake EPA set to a low setting! |
