Default Mamba Max Pro not calibrating to transmitter

I seem to be having trouble getting my Mamba Max Pro to calibrate to my transmitter . I have power the green light blinks and my spectrum transmitter is set to 120 like they said. Any ideas what it could be?

Is the led amber in neutral green forward and red reverse, or staying one color all the time?

I don't know the Castle ESC's all that well but I have seen a few of the race ESC's that require your throttle channel to be reversed for the calibration to take.

i got it to calibrate to my transmitter now. But it will only make one or two turns of the wheels before the green light (on my receiver) will go out then come back on 5 secs later. i have the BEC volts at 7.0. Im not even trying to put a bind on the wheels and it goes out.

Try dropping the bec volts down to 5.5 and see if it makes any difference

Are you running lipo on nimh? With nimh if the cells are cheap or getting old you could be dropping the voltage below the lvc and shutting down, had that problem with mmp running big brushless in a rustler, disabled the lvc and it worked fine. Also make sure that your subtrims (if you have them on your radio) are set to 0 or the mmp will give you trouble calibrating.

as long as i dont turn the wheels it drives forward and backward just fine. the 213% crawler drag brake works, everything else except if i try and steer it. my spektrum came with a new hightorque servo should i try that one? i figured the stock axial would draw less amps tho.

i put the spektrum one in and everything seems to work fine altho i havnt had it out in the rocks yet. do you think i will still need an external BEC if so i just wanna order one now. why would the spektrum work but the axial cut out?

You will disconnect (not cut) the red wire from the ESC which will disable the internal BEC.

i looked at a wiring diagram i understand now, what a let down tho after spending 120 bucks i still have to buy something else and have more wires. not a very good feature on Castles part, if you ask me.
