Default Mtroniks ESC

There are a couple of Mtronik esc worth having a look at. HobbyPeople just discounted them heavily. They are listed as esc's that can handle 2 motors. I know the Etruck esc can handle two motors and 14.4 volts. The other is listed that it can handle two motors but I've never seen that one before.
The price is right and much cheeper than the Super Rooster alternative.

Sounds cool to me but I would rather stick to a Super Rooster because I have tried them before and I know they work well.

I have heard very bad things about Mtroniks' speedos, namely they go up in smoke for no apparent reason. The innerds get hot because they don't really have heat sinks, so they go poof.

Depending on what motors you use, I bet the Sonik 2 would do fine with 14.4V. The limit on ESCs is the current they can handle, current is a function of how many turns the motor is, how many volts the motor can handle, and voltage.

So what they are telling you is that its ok to run a motor with X turns on X volts, with some margin of safety.

Oooh, how about the Sonik4 E-truck?

With a different amp for less heat? And still a big BEC

well looks like you would have to use either lathe motors or the stock 27t, no mm's with the Mtroniks Truck Dual Motor ESC w/Reverse
Specifications:

* Waterproof
* Motor short protection
* Set-Up: Digital Touch
* Direction: Forwards/ Reverse
* Motor Limit: 11 Turns
* Twin Motor Limit: 2 x 27 Turns
* Number of cells: 4-10
* Voltage: 4.8 - 12
* Frequency: 2.3kHz
* B.E.C. Output: 1.5 A
* Voltage Drop @ 10A: 0.020 Volts
* Weight including wires: 50g.
* Weight excluding wires: 27g
* Dimensions L x W x H: 35.0mm x 34.0mm x 15.0mm

I own a mtroniks for my tamiya f-150 and have never had it stop working or even act funny, my only gripe, though, is the brakes....
... So this is a warning to everyone thinking about getting one, the reverse has a delay and the brake current sucks, so if the truck is rolling off of a cliff, there isn't anything to stop it.

The BEC on the Truck Dual motor is only 1.5A. That's half of the SR...no thanks.

The Dual Truck will handle 2 stock cans and 2 6cell packs Trapt.
No specs on the other one though. :?

I guess 1.5A isn't as much as I thought, its the same as the EVX really. I'm running w/o an Rx pack right now, and its almost comical. If I bind the steering and hit the gas, nothing happens

I like the waterproof ability, new amplifier that seems to be better than a MOFSET or something (I'll have to do my homework on that new type..) The high turn limit implies to me that its very sturdy. I like having a Rx pack anyway so I can have 6V on my servos.

Hey MoonBuggy, is it christmas already?!

I don't think that even the mighty Super Rooster can supply that much current

Im running a super trucker 4 in my Maxx. I really like the esc, I have never had it get warm at all let alone hot. Granted thats running 750s but it works. The only thing I dont like about it is the reverse, its low on torque. When I was running p2k2 pro's it would stall, now with 750's it wont stall unless the battery is really low. Ive been more than happy with the esc other than thet one little gripe.

I'm wondering what the Truck Puller guys use, I've got my two 12T Pullmasters, but I have NO idea what could take 2 of em (with an acceptable margin of safety)

* 2 x 11 Turn motor limit @ 12.0V

holy crap 8O 8O 8O
• Max Peak Current 3120A
• Max Continuous Current 780A
8O 8O 8O
one confusing thing though, it also says • Current Limiter 40A~260A
what does that mean if the max is 3120?
