| Best cheap 3 channel?
I am looking for a 3 channel radio so I can add dig to my clod. My first thought was to go with a TQ3 but was wondering what other options I had. I did a little looking on ebay, and the Venom VR3T can be had a good price. What do you guys recommend?

Your cheap and my cheap are two WAY different numbers man! Im building a clod to see if this is something I want to get back into (been outta the hobby a long time). Im not about to spend 130 bucks for a radio, to put in a truck I am going to have less then $50 in. I guess to give you a number, $100 is my absolute max.

Do you need a 3 position 3rd channel? If not check out this radio, it's programmable and you really can't beat it for the price. http://www.hobbypartz.com/79p-gt3b-carradio-lcd.html |

The venom is the same as the flysky gt3b , it doesn't have a 3 position switch on the third channel. So this would be your only dig option MOA Dig Controller for Two Position Channel |

Now I am wanting to use a spring loaded switch, that all the servo has to do is push it in to operate the dig. Will I need that "dig box" do use it in that way? That piece is NICE, just not in the budget right now.

If you use any other method you'll only have 1 type of dig, not both front and rear. But yes, you can use the standard 2 pos switch to run a servo dig The flysky/venom dosen't have a spring load switch, its just on/off stays where you put it |

Perfect, one type will work for now, and then I can always upgrade! Just out of curiosity, I understand the rear digs, but why the fronts? Do you use them alot in comps?

| 90% of the time i usually lock up my rears, about 10% i'll lock up my fronts. Usually used to let your rear end slide down a face, if you need to do a U turn on a slope, wiggle the rear end around a gate, etc.

If you end up with a two position third channel, I make a dig controller that will give you both front and rear dig with that system. MOA Dig Controller for Two Position Channel |

I use a Flysky GT-3, cheap effective solution until you want to drop some cash on a better radio. $40 shipped from Nitrorcx.com, makes it hard to argue with the value. Are there better radios? Yes. Are they more costly? Yes. Try it out, if you dont like it, no big loss.

I use this one, and having a lot of fun with it, dunno if you have moa or not or dual esc but here it is. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idproduct=9042 I used this video for programming it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g-7aVseFBE Its cool how you can use each stick for each axle, and also do some mixing to allow gamepad style driving and have front and rear dig at the same time without lifting any fingers off any controls. check it out. only $30ish. |

Sorry this will probably sound stupid from a newbie... I do not understand "DIG" But my crawler has a 4CH 2.4GHz Etronics pulse radio system. its great and works great for me and my 4WS upgrade. |

| "Dig" is where you can drive or disconnect either axle independantly. This can help load tires or make sharper turns. This is usually done mechanically for a "shaftie" type rig or with a servo/electronic dig in a MOA or dual ESC's in a MOA. Shafties have a single motor with a gearbox to run both axles. MOA is "Motor on Axle" meaning 2 motors, each directly connected to an axle. |
