| Lipo? and how to pick a charger
I want to buy a few lipo's so I can cut weight and save some space. I was thinking 3s 1300 30c and I understand the batteries, but I dont under stand the charger's. Im kinda confused and the lhs guy was not helping . I dont understand why lipo chargers need a power suply. How do I decide what power suply I need for what charger. I know these questions sound dumb and when I search I just come up with people running lipo's and what chargers they have. Can I please get some help, or a link that explains this stuff...my brain is shot..lol thanks |

Chargers I use..... IMHO, some of the best and easiest to use. Hyperion EOS0606I AC/DC Charger Hyperion EOS0606I DC Charger Batteries I run..... They are a little bigger than what allot of guys run in a competition truck. Still small enough to be considered a good option though. They make good practice packs. If you have a scale truck that needs a little smaller pack to fit where you want it, but still want a decent run time, these work great. I have 2 of the Hyperion EOSO606i chargers and love them. Very easy to use and a high quality product. |

| +1, there are 3 options, the 2 most common are: -DC input only (run it off your car battery or a DC supply) -AC/DC input, run it off a wall outlet or a DC supply like your car battery. Last option is AC only, it only runs off a wall outlet. You don't see these as often partly because of cost. The price of a transformer is sorta high due to copper prices although some use mostly solidstate to drop voltage & convert to DC. My son & I run Venom ProChargers that are AC/DC. When home we run them off a wall outlet, when we go to a comp, we leave the power supply home and use either the car battery or I carry a small 12vDC 8AH gelcell battery. |

I use a HobbyKing eco six charger ( same as Turnigy Accucel 6 ) and an old modified PC power supply I had laying around and it works great! cost about $2 and 20 mins to convert. Modding a PC Power Supply into a 12 Volt Supply for your DC charger |

I hear ya. The only LiPo's I currently have are two 6000 mAh for an 1/8th scale electric conversion, and recently won one of these in a giveaway. I've been wanting to go LiFe, so I've been looking every now and then for a charger capable of a lot higher amperage than my Onyx 230. Bein' that I'm fairly certain I'm destined for another lump of coal again this year, perhaps maybe I'll just help good ol' Saint Nick with a suggestion (read: purchase). | |
