I have a ds8711. I had it in my wraith...it would shut the whole truck down if it got in any bind. mamba max pro esc. noticed that there was a lot of play in the servo mount....all ears busted off case....then searching for parts i see its aircraft only.... So what does a guy do ? just junk it did I burn it up? worth putting new case on? |

The BEC in the Mamba Max Pro is only three amps, 8711 (which is a very popular crawler servo) draws about ten amps in a bind. You need to add a Castle BEC, that will stop the shutting down issue and will be a must with any decent servo you run. So, buy a new case and a BEC and have fun. |

If you're in the USA, I know Tower Hobbies has a reasonable selection of parts, you can also try the Mfr direct. PS, I use #10 steel flat washers between the screws & the servo mounts to spread the loads to prevent breakage. Cheap & easy. |
