There was just a few posts regarding this. Castle has directions for installing the software in Windows 7, check their website again. Running as an admin is not the real issue.

I downloaded the link from Castle's site when I got my new laptop with Win 7 and didn't have any issues at all.

Did you try it that way?

I did the same with Tekin.

  1. Click 'Download Castle Link vX.XX Now'
  2. At the bottom of the page click 'Save.'
  3. When the download is complete click the bottom at the bottom right 'View Downloads.' This will open a folder containing the download 'CastleLinkInstall_3.41.1' or higher.
  4. Right click (click with right mouse button instead of the usual left button) and from the dropdown left click on 'Run as Administrator.'
  5. Allow Windows to install the software.
  6. Click the 'Next' button through the installation process and be sure to allow the driver to install if Windows asks.
  7. Castle Link software is now installed. Go to the desktop, there will be a new blue icon that says 'Castle Link.' The icon opens the program like any other program installed on your computer.

I did a search for "Windows" as a keyword in the last week in this forum. Only 2 threads popped up.

Sometimes you have to scroll down the page, I'm assuming you looked, figured I would mention it though.
