Default holmes hobbies 7t questions.

im looking to get a holmes hobbies 7t puller motor. im going to put it into my new wraith kit. my question is i want to run my traxxas xl-5 esc with that motor, would that be a good decision? would it work? i already have that esc plus i want everything waterproof. another question is there any tips on how to care for that motor after i drive through mud and water? need some help and there is way too much info out there on that motor and cant narrow my search down enough to figure out what i need. pm or post up please.

It should work fine, but keep an eye on motor temps, especially if you plan to run wide open. Pullers are great for crawling, but can be power hungry and heat up if pushed hard.

Maintenance is just like any other brushed motor. Personally I'd rather grab a few cheap motors for mudding and continued use in the water. Water, or more specifically, the impurities in water will wear a motor out much faster than normal.
