Also it says to have the output voltage set at no higher than 4.2 bolts per cell but I can't change that in the onyx 235 and it says input voltage is 12.73 volts I can't figure out how to change it.

Input voltage is what goes INTO the charger, has nothing to do with what goes INTO the battery pack.

To charge a pack, set to chemistry (LiPO), cell count (2S), charge rate (1C is normal, 5amps for a 5000mah pack = 1C) plug it in & let her rip.

If in doubt, put the pack in a LiPO sack, large coffee can, back porch on cement, driveway, etc. before charging. Then, "if something happens" nothing but the pack will burn.

When you set it for 2s it sets the output voltage to 8.4v (4.2 per cell). Punch in 5000 for the capacity and it'll set to 5 amps (1c).

Put the battery in a rig, run until LVC stops the rig.
Done.

Don't overthink this stuff.

But the battery is only 7.4 volts isn't 8.4 volts to high?

No....no....no.....no......

The 7.4 volts is a "nominal" voltage, not what it needs to charge at.

Ya, they come with some charge in them. Just make sure the LVC is on on your ESC and run it.

For torque you want a high turn motor or smaller pinion.
If you had issue with the 12tooth pinion on the 45T motor, then changed to a 18tooth pinion with a 27T motor you went the wrong way on BOTH.
The 27T motor is a bit hot (fast) for a crawler.

Are these new motors or old?
What battery connectors?

You may want to look in the LCC forum to see what they recommend for motors & gearing.
Additionally, IIRC, the LCC is a worm drive axle, they tend to eat brushed motors very fast. Most recommend to run a brushless system.

If you've run both these motors for some time in the LCC, you may have used them up.

Yes, they have some charge (zero volts is a dead pack........).

How long did the charger run? I know when I balance some of my packs I hit the 120 minute time limit & have to restart the charge to get to the voltage limit.

I've done the same thing before.. I put my pack on slow balance for a while and it brought my pack back up enough to charge.. If your charger has a balancer try that .

Hi Don, try charging your pack on a NiMH or NiCD 6 or 7 cell charge for a few minutes, then try the LiPO balance charge again.

You "may" bring it back, but it's life may also have been shortened.

PS, I'm fine, thanks for asking.
