Default anyone used a mini q5 cree flashlight for lights?

Was wondering if anyone has disassembled and used a mini cree flashlight for offroad lights? You can get one with a lens as small as a thumbnail...id say about 15-20mm and throws out up to 300lm...its run off 1 aaa. It would be perfect size for a 2 light bar...but tryin to find out more specifics if possible ( wiring, switch etc.) before i try it out.

Aren't most small flashlights like that more of a spot pattern though? It would be tough to find one with a flood pattern to spread the light.

I have a couple of the free mini's you get from Harbor Freight that I've taken apart for the led's. They work great. I've used the lens housing off a mini maglite for housings as well.

Are you stealing the "mini-mag" reflectors from mini-mag flashlights, or are you buying them as "replacements"??

Sounds like a decent idea, just asking.

I used the cap with the lens and reflector. Just robbed them off some old Mag-lites I never use.
