They work but you really get what you pay for. Gonna replace them with some br00ds soon.

If you want more of a budget motor check out Br00ds two machine wound motors, the ravage and intensity. Both look solid. Definitely way way better than any sealed can crap and I'm sure much better quality than an Integy. He even breaks them in for you.

I'll be testing one soon.

I've been running a RC4WD 35T in my Honcho for about a year now. No trouble so far. They are only $10 each; they are disposable at that price.

Is it the best option? No.

Is it the cheapest option? For a new motor, I didn't find one cheaper.

if this is going in a losi, with the worm drive, you really need to go brushless.

+1.....worm drives EAT even great brushed motors for breakfast, then they're waiting for more for lunch......

Worm drives really WANT/NEED brushless motor set-ups. The worm drag makes up for the usual sucky drag brake from a brushless motor.

They have a really weird brush shape. It's kind of like this " [ " . I got these, so I dropped them in a cup of water and ran them at 3volts for several hours until the entire face of the brush was touching the comm. If you don't mind putting the work into them, they are allright. But let me ask you something. What is YOUR time worth to you?

but he is going MOA on the Losi, so a brushed motor is fine.

However I would look for a higher quality motor like a Holmes Hobbies 40t torquemaster or a 20t crawlmaster would be a great choice for an MOA losi

This is the same brush design that is in the Axial 20 and 27t stock motors. Having run both of these motors for quite a while, I noticed the brushes wore very deep grooves into the comm. They were not broken in properly and were losing rpm and torque noticeably. I pulled them both out before I melted anything.

I understand the rig.

Search any worm drive rig and see what lasts for motors. Brushed tend to die an early death, even great ones.
The general consensus is that brushless is the way to go with these axles.
The extra drag of the worm drive overshadows the longevity of the brushless motors and their general lack of mechanical drag.

You are entitled to your own opinions though.

read this-
HD's Losi comp crawler

now tell me, I dont know what I'm talking about. if it was still a shafty rig I would HIGHLY suggest that he get a brushless system, but when running the Losi LCC/NC axles in an MOA set-up a brushed motor will work great, and I have seen it done. and it worked very well.

x2 i totally agree with 2500hd. it would be a big mistake to run brushless on a moa losi, a couple ppl have tried it and its not worth the $ involved and it doesnt do any better than a decent brushed motor. when i still had my losi moa i started with tamiya 27t motors while waiting for my brood 30t's to arrive and they work ok for bashing or fun crawling and didnt get to warm on 3s, just not enough torque for comp use. once i had my 30ts they rarely even got even close to hot, usually just fairly warm to the touch on a whole 1700 3s pack. the shafty losi does eat brushed motors easily but moa not so much. now to the op question. if you are on a budget i would suggest either finding a pair of integy 35ts or a pair of homles sport machine wound 35ts

since you already have the m2 just get some 35t motors then, you could try the rc4wd motors and worst case they dont have enough torque and you would be able to recover most you loss if you resold them in the classifieds and they are only $20 plus shipping for the pair, but i would still get a pair of holmes sport motors or team broods newer machine wounds to try.
