Default RE; amp draw "per motor" on an moa

I have a stock esc (with unknown exact ratings) That can run duel 55turn motors on 3s lipo, but cooks after duel 45turn motors on 3s.

I'm planning to switch to a duel esc dig setup. If I run a single 35turn motor per esc, and run duel esc's on 3s lipo, I should draw less amps through each esc, right?

Am I on the right track here? Man I feel like a newb asking this.

so basically what you're asking is, is a single 35t motor going to pull more amps than two 45t motors? honestly, I think that's going to depend on the gearing and the motors themselves, but I guess we can leave gearing out of the equation since this is all pertaining to the same rig

but let's say the 55t pulls 20amp, the 45t pulls 30amp, and the 35t pulls 40amp. and for kicks let's say the ESC is a 50amp ESC. the two 55t would come to 40amp, so the ESC would be good on it. the two 45t would be capable of pulling 60amp, so the esc is going to struggle to keep up and heat up really quick. then a single 35t pulling 40amp is going to right back at the amp draw of the two 55t motors, so you're back to the reliability you had to start with

but keep in mind I'm basing these numbers on nothing at all, just the way I'm thinking, lol

I don't see why it overly matters, since you are switching to a dual ESC setup. Any ESC out there can handle a 35t....as long as they are 3s capable, you will be fine.

But yes, a single 35t should draw less than two 45t......

Cool. Thanks.

The redcat esc I think is supposed to be rated for around 100amp, But it is NOT rated for 3s. But a bunch of us run it anyways without issue on duel 70t 390 motors. Only a couple guys have experimented with these lower turn 540's. We are slowly finding the limits the hard way.
