Sure if you don't mind going left when you go forward and right in reverse |

My question is why would you want to run the ESC and servo off the same channel? I've heard of ppl running a Y splitter on the servo input for dual servos to get 4WS if they don't have independent control off their stock RTR AM radios...

x2 you will be turning one way or the other when throttling. ive seen it done on helis and planes but not a crawler. i cant see how it would ever work in a crawler. unless you plan on driving it on a circle track. lol

a while back i was gonna run a mechanical brake and esc on the same channel so when sitting at neutral there could be braking action at the same time. Was just curious if it would work. So seems like it would. What i had was a nitro type trans with a one way output. But i gave up on that idea... Lol. Thanks for the quick replies. |

Yes it will - E-buggies use that set up often for mechanical brake. Seen a build somewhere (here?) that has a Tamiya 3-speed with the shift servo tied to the throttle. Doesn't have to be a steering servo! |

I think your idea would work, you just need to have the servo horn at its furthest away point at neutral throttle (for maximum braking) and as you go forward it would sweep one way and release the brake, then for reverse it would sweep the other way but would still release the brake. The problem is that a nitro transmission would have a one way bearing and therefore no reverse. And no ESC braking either. | |

| Re: a quick esc Q this is why i was condsidering the idea. it was way back when i was starting out with my first build. (that never eventuated.) i bought a nitro trans, not knowing exactly what it was, thinking i could build a crawler with it.... ive still got the trans, but no idea what to do with it...

I was thinking about this the other day believe it or not, and how awesome it would be to rig up something like on the Traxxas XO-1 with a spoiler that popped up at full throttle or something, lol
