Default MMP bec?

ive got a MMP and a hitec 7955tg servo..
planning on 3s as a power source
do i need to run an external bec with the MMP on my wraith?

ive also heard of directly wiring the servo to the battery...
with 3s is this a bad idea (over volting?)
is the only wire conneting to the rx the white signal wire at that point?
would i still need to run a bec to regulate voltages?

No, you should be fine. I have never ran a BEC on anything. If you were to search BEC you would find 1000's of people all saying a BEC is needed but they are wrong. My friends cousins brother's friend has a redcat with 17 servos and he never uses a BEC, so that is as good as gospel to me.

Answer to the first question....YES....I run the same servo and MMpro w/13.5 brushless..3s....needs an external BEC

I don't have an answer for the second question....but wonder why you would do that.

You don't NEED to do anything, but it would be better to run a bec for a myriad of reasons. Searching helps...

I think that was the key to his tongue-in-cheek statement.

Sadly, no. The most common idea seems to be coming on here whining about "my truck stalls when I try and turn the wheel and hit the throttle", and then trash talking 'faulty/junk equipment'.

Pretty much almost guaranteed to burn up your servo before it even gets itself centered. And if you're particularly lucky, might even short out the circuit board and take out your LiPo, too. If you try it, do so outside.

That's entirely up to the Rx, some can run just fine with only the signal wire, some need a ground path as well.

It's a cheap way to alleviate a lot of headaches for you, but if you want, you can try more questionable methods.
