Default Is my ESC bad

I have a BRXL and 35 T sprot that I purchased new. The problem I have is that the motor never works. I have steering but never forward or backwards. The ESC most of the time dose not beep when I plug it in and when it does the motor will work for about 5 min then just cuts out and I am back to step one. I tore the motor apart and everything looked good to me. I am very frustrated any help is appreciated

How much runtime on the motor & ESC? One pack, 50 packs?

Did it ever work correctly?

Did you try to calibrate the ESC to the radio?

If you have lots of runtime, maybe the brushes are worn and thus have a poor connection causing issues?

Did you ever "smoke" the ESC or motor? (Did you get them real hot)?

Did you try to power the motor direct from a battery? I would try this with the pinion gear away from the spur gear.

Runtime: 30 mins totale broken up into 10 min intervals

It works if I change a bunch of settings with the castle link then default it back, works for about 10 mins then cuts off but steering still works

How do you calibrate the ESC to the radio I have a Futaba 4pk

Never saw smoke and never got hot on any runs still could touch motor and esc.

Will try the motor directed to the battery.

What kind of battery and what battery LVC do you have set? Sounds like you're hitting LVC and the ESC stops the motor.

Brush/motor issues may make it so you don't hear the "arming chime" when you power up the rig.

Calibrating (make sure the TX throttle is set to: EPA's 100%, trim to 0), then read page 4 here.... http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...s_ed_guide.pdf

More info near the bottom here... Castle Creations | FAQ: 1/10th Scale Products

I found the problem one of the wires I soldered on had a break in it, replaced with a new one and works great.
