Default Battery Questions.

I am running a Honcho RTR and I am currently running a 6cell NiMH 4200. I have been looking at lipos and I was wondering what the difference is in the "C" rating? Some are 40C and others are 20C! wondering what that means!

RTR honcho just put a XL-5 ESC on it and looking for input on what size lipo to run. What MAH rating? also what ''C'' rating?

The way I understand c rating is (and someone please correct me if I am wrong) is that the higher the c rating the higher the power output of the battery! Also a higher c rating will result in a shorter run time between charges.

"C" determines how many amps a pack can put out. punch if you will
the simple math is C times mah divided by 1000
example
5000mah X 20c=10000 divided by 1000=100amp discharge(always divide by 1000,1000mah= 1 amp hour)

mah is milliamp hour. that determines your run time and amp output.

the higher the mah rating is on a battery, the lower the C rating can be.

you can never really have to high of a C rating.but if C rating is to low,you can damage the pack because the battery cant keep up with the current demand

x2. The c rating and the mah rating determine how many amps the pack can put out constantly and sometimes they have a burst rating as well. Having a higher c rating does NOT mean shorter run times the mah rating still determine that. Ex 2000mah 20c and a 2000mah 40c will still have the same basic run time just the 40c can put out double the amps
