Default Noobie question...GT3B 2.4G

I'm very new to R/C and no almost nothing about radios, receivers, and Rc electronics.. Please forgive my ignorance.

I have several RC trucks running 2.4G radios. Traxxas Summit... Axial AX10.. HPI truck... I want to convert all my trucks to Digital 2.4G

The summit needs 4 channels... I want 3 channels for the AX10 to run the dig. others only requier 2 channels art this time... but who knows what the future brings.

My question is... Will the GT3B work with my existing receivers or will I need to buy new ones?
The GT3b looks to be very popular to hack & Mod... How is it for a Newbie to work with? I know how to Solder & Read instructions... as long as they are simple and detailed. Is the hack & Programming something a Newbie can do?

Are all the GT3b the same? any that are better or worse?

Thank you for the help.

if your looking to run a 4 channel then buy a hacked one from i think its a guy called overkillrc.com and you cant use traxxas or hpi rx`s with the gt3b but the flysky rx`s are cheap compared to say spektrum.

ive been using one for about a year now and they are pretty easy to work iam actually thinking of getting hacked one myself now just incase i muck something up but all wait till next year before i do anything.

i forgot to say if you get the gt3c version you would ahve to mod the power button as they like to break the wire inbetween the botton and steering wheel but most people ive seen put a switch on the handset under the steering wheel areawhich seems to work

Hack kit is worth it. My GT3B is running 0.6.1 with a VR mod of my own make and a display mod to make it easier to see in the day light.
