| Is my ESC done?
Got a used XR10 this week. It has a Losi 9522 Crawler ESC. Its ran great for 3 straight days. Today, mid run, it stopped dead in it's tracks. No power. I swapped batteries, tinkered with buttons and got some steering and automatic full reverse. Got home, tinkered, researched manual, reversed throttle on my radio, tried everything, even a different receiver. just steering and full speed reverse. I even reversed my throttle setting on my radio. Ideas? Last edited by Bansh88; 02-15-2013 at 06:25 PM. |

Sounds like a dead ESC. The fact it works in reverse sounds like the FET's (?) died for forward. |

FET? I was already looking to upgrade but this is quite a bummer. Was in the middle of a great new spot! Looks like electric cars have the same amount of heartbreak as Nitro's. If I can get a confirmation on death, i'll start shopping tonight. |

FET's are the solid state bits that switch power on & off. Much better than SCR's for the size & price. Most ESC's have FET's for forward & reverse. Kill one set of FET's, you lose a direction in the rig. A cheap test is to try & calibrate the ESC to the RX again, but not likely any different outcome. |
