My Hitec 5645 (a puny 164 oz/in) is doing an absolute fine job in my scx10. I never find my rig limited by it's torque, nor have I ever felt like it needed more in any instance. The need for such a torquey servo boils down to how heavy your rig/tires are and how mindless you plan to drive it.
I used to run a 5645, true you can run it. But get the wheels bound up. It frustrating. In one my scalers, I run hobbico CS170 brand new they around $89.

400 something oz of torque at 7.4 volts, so you have to get a bec to unlocks it's potential

You get what you pay for as far as servos are concerned. I'd recommend a Hitec 7955, 7950 or 7980. Look for one used. The Hobbico 170 mentioned above is a good servo too. I have not had luck with cheap (crappy) Chinese servos.

Ussually in my case too.... But i run it in my honchos with mashers and it has plenty of torque., it's also waterproofed, i took it apart. Dipped the board, then dipped the whole servo. It's lasted well

I have hitec 5645's in my mog, my sons honcho, and my wifes jeep scalee...had them all for over a uear now...and no issues at all with any of them...I also bought a solar d772 servo, figured for the price why not.. it's "ok". I dont believe it puts out the torque they say it does, and I have a bec....but the reason I took it off was because it was very loud and noisy..when just sitting still it drove me nuts...so it's in my backup parts box at the moment...
