Arrow Radios (which to buy?)

I got a pretty beat up spectrum dx3 and was thinking about replacing it. I am looking at the 3PL and the 3PM by Futaba. I don't know nothin about this so any help/insight is much appreciated. Thanks!!!

Matt

ps. A friend of mine was making fun of my RC addiction and he said "man you crawl before you can walk"
Anybody have a righteous come back for that?

A lot depends on what you are looking to do.

For just steering & throttle, you have lots of options.

For steering & dual ESC's (like on a MOA) you are likely looking for an expanded 3 channel, add in winches or rear steer you can go up in channels.

Was advised to buy the 3pmx. I am only doing throttle and steer right now, had a 3rd ch for dig but not using that now.

Keep your channel needs wide open and get a hacked GT3B from losikid. Not too steep $$ wise and another 6 channels will be waiting when you need them.

The 4pl is way more radio for just a little more money. If you ever go moa you won't need a new radio all over again if you just get the 4pl from the start.

My son runs an updated 4PL on a MOA.
I have run a 3PM-x with a WantAmix on a MOA as well as a hacked GT3B.

I love Futaba....when I need to spend the ~same money for a single extra Futaba RX compared to an 8 channel hacked GT3b.....it gets tough.

I also just received 2 GT3C's, I will hack and may like them more than a hacked GT3B.

Not quite sure I will agree that a 4PL is "way better" than a hacked GT3B/C........sheesh.....have you tried both??
I have.

I'll be the oddball and suggest the Airtronics MT-4. I really like mine.

Almost everyone in the sacramento area has converted to the mt4. Great radio nice features. I still have my dx3r because I have too many receivers to get rid of it.

From my phone using my fingers.

Futaba 4pks has 4 channels and plenty of programming options stores up to 40 models I use it in all my race kits and my crawlers
