Default FlySky Radio help,,takes off when radio if off?

I swapped my stock radio out of my scx10 jeep today for my flysky,so I could use a winch. Everything works fine, but if I shut off the radio it takes off? It doesnt do it when you turn the rx on without the radio. Once it connects to the radio then you shut off the radio,it takes off almost full speed but seems to have a little jerky-ness to it. I dont recall this happening when I used the radio on another, and looked at the settings, nothing appears to be off or anything?

The electronics are stock that came in my scx10 rtr, maybe a conflict of something?

Never shut the radio off before the truck and never turn the truck on before the radio. You can do damage to the ESC including burning it up.

Your rig should always be last on, first off.

Why does a chicken still run when you cut the head off? Same deal, you cut the control signal off, it will go out of control. Just because others you have, have not, doesn't mean that they wouldn't next time. The run away issue is why you always turn the radio off last.

You might have the fail safe turned on. The one for gas, where if it looses signal it's supposed to go to full brake to keep the car from running away. I know you can do it with this radio. I would have to look up how to disengage but it should be in the manual.

my gt3b does the same thing, where as my futabas and speckies dont.

its easy enough to just turn off the rig before the rx, but if i could 'fix' it with the failsafe, it would keep those times where you forget to turn off the truck first a little less exciting.

Most failsafes have an option of "full brake" (no good when you have reverse) or "neutral".

Not sure what a stock or hacked GT3B has, never looked.

I was taught, use, and teach, "TX on, RX on.....RX off, TX off".

Pretty simple.

My son learned that at ~age 5.......

This is a helpful video. He shows how to bind and set up a failsafe.

Turning your gear on and off in the proper order is fine when it's working properly. But sometimes sh!t happens: radio breaks, car/boat goes out of range, your kid experiments with the switches , so the OP has a valid concern and as far as I'm concerned a modern radio should not do this.

Hopefully it's just the fail safe and it can be changed to neutral, too bad Flysky doesn't set it to neutral from the factory so it's less likely to cause a problem.

I have an 8ch and a 3ch FlySky Rx and both have the fail-safe on. I didn't even know it could be disabled until yesterday.

I am not disagreeing.

In our typical use (we use reverse), "neutral" is a safe bet.
For Nitro's, "full reverse" is better, thus "full brake".

So, you're a radio manufacturer, what do YOU pick as the "standard" programming??
