Default Castle Sidewinder SV3 problem

I was out having fun today and my esc quit on me. It is still showing a solid yellow light and you can go through all the manual settings just fine, but two things are not happening. When you first turn on the ESC I am getting no beeping sound (every once in a while I get the beeps, but most of the time nothing) and even though the ESC is showing everything is fine, I am getting no power to the motor. I am getting power to my servo (no BEC). I plan on calling castle tomorrow if nobody has any ideas. It did quit when going through some water (never been a problem before) so I am wondering if the waterproofness has worn off maybe? It just seems weird that the lights are telling me everything is okay but it is obviously not.

Do you have another motor to try. The beeps come from the motor and since you aren't getting them it sounds like the motor might be done.

+1...there is no speaker in any ESC, the "chime" you hear is from the motor.

Check the motor wires, brushes (do they slide easily, do they still have some length left)?

You can disconnect one ESC to motor wire, then run a battery direct to the motor to see if it runs. If it does, you may have an ESC issue. If it does not run, you have a motor issue.

I know the "beep" come from the motor.... I put my ear very close to the motor to confirm that.....

But does anyone know how the sound is made?? Obviously the ESC sends the signal to the motor to make the noise but how?

It pulses the power to the motor.

If the ESC to motor connections are bad, bad motor brushes, brushes not hitting the comm., etc, you won't hear the chime. Thus, check those out to see if you can find the issue.

Thanks for the replies, I had a busy day and could not get to the computer. It would make sense because I believe the motor is on the way out. I do not have another motor to try, but I suppose if I wired current directly to the motor and it did not work that this would confirm the problem. I may also be able to get a motor from a friend to try out. I will update when I am able to figure it out.

Also the motor was the stock axial 27t that it came with so I do not think there is any way to take it apart and check it. Am I right in this?

Yea, it's a sealed can. You can't take it apart.
