Default What do you use for monitoring motor temp?

I was just curious what people out there use for monitoring their motor temp for their crawlers. I know that most motors are not supposed to go over 160 degrees. Hoping you guys would have some input.

Finger test...I make sure that I can keep my finger on the motor at all times without having to pull it off due excessive heat..running Tekin Roc412's and I have yet to run into them getting anywhere past luke warm....Summer is on its way though...I check the temps after swapping out fresh lipos(45-60 min).

On my 1/8 Truggies I would use a temp gun.

Thanks. I was wondering if anyone has mounted some sort of digital display for motor temp. I just installed two on my Wraiths and they seem to be working great. Here are some pictures of them. Let me know what you think.

If you can't hold your finger to the can for more than 3-4 seconds its too hot.

I have found that I do not like burning my finger so I went with the digital gauges.

That's why you pull it off just before it burns

While I was racing, I used a digital IR temp gun, can be had for less than $50, something like this:
Non-Contact IR Infrared Digital Temperature Gun Thermometer Laser Point - Newegg.com

For crawling, most of the time I use the finger method.
3-4 seconds without a ouch, and you're good to go.
