Default brushless combo setup help

I am completely lost when it comes to brushless but want to make a mud skimmer for local mud bogging comps so I need help with cheap brushless combos like from hobbyking thanks

I want a fast truck that could skim or almost skim across mud Would this motor and esc work cuz I have no idea on brushless I also want to run 2s or 3s lipos. thanks
HobbyKing Brushless Car ESC 45A w/ Reverse

TP540-11.5T 3350kv Brushless R/C Car Motor w/sensor
and maybe this motor if you guys think it is fast enough to skim mud or some cheap motor that will skim across mud thanks

I would probably go to a 60 amp esc, the motor would probably do alright on 3s but would probably too sow on 2s.

Look at the comments about the motor below the tech stuff. For what you are wanting to do, wheel speed is key, so maybe a 4200-5000Kv model. But if you go more motor you are going to have to get a higher amp esc, Some of their motors list in the specs the motors max amp draw, so base the esc on that.

Those are both small motors for like a mini size. Something like this, it is for 1/10 scale. HobbyKing X-Car 8.5 Turn Sensored Brushless Motor (4000Kv)

It says the motors max draw is 37 amps, so you could use the 45a, but for an extra $8 you can get a 60a. Turnigy TrackStar 1/10th Scale 60A Car ESC Version 2
Whoops, that one is sensorless.

Here is a sensored one,http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...s_Car_ESC.html, but you would be limited to 2s so I would choose a faster motor like this, Turnigy TrackStar 6.5T Sensored Brushless Motor 5485KV

If you could swing a little more towards the esc, take a look at this one, Turnigy Trackstar 1/10th 60A Sensored/Sensorless Car ESC.
