Default help with battery

i have a trail honcho with stock electrical parts. i want to get a lipo but am confused on what will burn up stuff and what wont. im looking to buy a Venom racing 20c 11.1V 5400 mah 3s2p lipo, or a venom 15008 2s 7.4V 5400mah 20c lipo. just bought a rc4wd light bar and truck also has stock lights. im gonna be using dean plugs also. plus i want longer run time for truck. and please recommend what will work for what i want to do thanx cory

If your ESC is an AE-2, then you can run a 3s pack (with a BEC) with a chance of burning it up. A 2s is what the AE-2 is rated for and will cause no harm as long as the li-po cutoff is turned on.

Safest is a 2S, but I've seen 3S ran on the AE-2 without issues and like stated above, you'll need an external BEC for the servo though.

I would stick with the 2s since ya pretty much have a stock rig. Personally I've never had an AE2 that has ever worked out of the box. One lasted one nimh pack and died. Other never moved forward. Had no reverse. Gave them back to axial due to I had better esc s on hand.

All rigs will benifit from having external bec ran directly to servo, and really should be a must for all rigs. Better servo blah blah blah.

thanx fellas but i also purchased a rc4wd l.e.d light bar and was wondering how exactly do i hook that up comes with plug for receiver do i need a bec for that. and also i want a castle creations bec but have no idea which one will best fit my truck. my concerns when running this rc4wd light bar either 7.4 or 11.1 lipo and a novak 55 turn motor. i have a castle esc

The 10a bec is all I've ever used in my rigs..I would think you'd be fine with that.
