Default Ae-2 Cuts Out

Hi I have a RTR Axial Jeep. The only thing I've changed is I'm running a Futaba 3PM-X. The motor has started cutting out. The steering servo still works but movement stops. I've tried programming the esc to turn off the lipo cut off but it still does it. Could my rig be too heavy? Any ideas?

Thanks

No rig is not too heavy. Have you reset your end points on throttle. Does it beep at you or anything when it does it. My son and I both use ae-2 right now and they work pretty flawless but on occasion I have to reset them.

i agree try the endpoint calibration...
if you need to know the steps it is easy..

with rig off..
hold full throttle and power on - once you hear beeps... go full reverse until you hear beeps then let go of throttle until you hear beeps.. now your golden.. so you can set your throttle adjuster knob if you have one to where you want it then do those steps. I have to do this on occassion for my ae-2 as well...

Before doing this, set the throttle EPA's to 100% and throttle trims to 0.

first question is have you upgraded the servo? If yes then you will need to install a castle creations BEC, second how heavy is the rig ? have you changed the gearing?

Everything is standard. The rig is about 5.5kgs.

I'm running traxxas waterproof servos and I don't have a bec on either one of my rigs. I have them just to lazy to install I guess

Try installing it just for fun, and see if that fixes the problem...you'd be surprised what those little bec's can fix...

Ok. I've just ordered a BEC so will see how I go with the new motor, Castle Link and BEC. Fingers crossed.

I was running a different setup on a wraith but with the same symptoms. Turns out it was the connectors going to my motor. I un-plugged them and plugged them in and it works fine. The next step would be a little motor maitenance. Take it out, clean and oil it to see if it helps.

I'll try that. I'm replacing the motor and adding a BEC so should cover all bases

I've connected up the BEC and all seems Ok. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Just got to remember to un plug the battery otherwise the receiver stays on.
