Default CC BEC Signal Wire

Got a quick question to throw out there.

When using a CC BEC and wiring it up with a "Y" harness does the signal wire from the BEC need to be taken out of the picture?
Is it used for the programming of the BEC and thus will it cause some issues?

Other NON Castle BEC I have not worried about the signal wire as they are not programmable.

I've omitted the signal wire out of laziness pretty much. No need to keep unless one is programming it. No issues so far

Reason i use the Y harness is to keep the end intact for programming purposes and to make it easier to replace servos in the future.

I will just pop the signal wire out of the Y harness end and leave the BEC plug intact. That will isolate the signal wire from the receiver to the BEC and servo so there is no possibility of cross talk in the signal wires. This will allow for easy programming in the event a higher voltage servo is ever installed and the BEC needs programming.

Ah true, in that scenario it's needed so I'd leave it intact.

For my wiring, a mixture of rx and jst plugs keeps things manageable and modular. For instance a Y from the bec to an hv servo and winch. And a Y from the hv servo, jst plug for power from bec and rx plug for signal to rx (signal wire & ground only). Also makes things easy to read at a glance without unnecessary wires.

I keep the plug intact and pull the signal wire out (BEC side) and cover it with heat shrink, same scenario I still can put the plug back together for reprogramming in the future.

Eh I will just yank the signal wire off the Y harness that the BEC will be plugging into. BEC plug will be left intact no wire to un shrink tube and ram back into the plug. Just yank it from the wire harness and program away.
