Hi i'm new in this a friend of mine gave me the scx10 honcho brand new and i have an speedpack 5100mah 8.4v 7-cell hump ni-mh battery

my problems

1- It goes too fast with a single touch to the remote

my ax10 had the older radio like that, it sucked and my truck was very glitchy. hobbypartz has the flysky gt3b for like 40$, the radio has amazing range and the receiver is TINY I like all the digital settings too! If your new to that stuff watch some YouTube videos on how to set it up.

What motor are you using in it. If it's sensorless it could be cogging for the movement. If not remote and reciever.

older am radios just pick up signals especially when the tx is off. Alot of esc claim "signal loss protection" but that's with like a nicer 2.4gh imo. Or a really nice esc. But the self movement is interference. Make sure the crystal set/frequency set is the same, I have had 2 that were very close and would do something's but lose connection after like 2ft. Another option is to try a different tx/rx if you have one lying around, just to verify where the problem is coming from.

+1...... TX on, RX/rig on........RX/rig off, TX off.

You may want to recalibrate the RX to the ESC to fix the other issue.

Eventually, you will want to replace the radio. A hacked GT3B/GT3C is a good way to go. They are newer 2.4ghz radios that can handle up to 8 channels.

you can buy 5000mah AA rechargeable batteries online for cheap and they run for like 20+ hrs. If you were referring to the battery hack. What hack are you talking about?

You should also program the fail safe setting. It is on the bottom left side of the instructions sheet. Having the fail safe set correctly will stop the rig if it goes out of transmitter range.

http://docs.axialracing.com/instruct...structions.pdf

Please note that the fail safe setting isn't intended to be a replacement of the proper power on/power off process for the transmitter and receiver.

The stock AE-2 speed controller is rated to 6 cell batteries, not 7. I know you can run 11v lipo batteries but I have seen 7 cell batteries fry the speed controller. As already mentioned, the receiver may be damaged. If so, it will need to be replaced. You can also attemp a reprogram of the speed control....

A stock GT3B or GT3C is a 3 channel radio, "hacked" gets you up to 8 channels.

Yes, there are a few "mods" which include the steering wheel bearing as well as the "VR mod" that drops the battery load giving a longer runtime on the TX batteries.

Check out "OverkillRC" in my sig to find out more. It's a vendor on this forum.
